    Bible, Cotton,Rice and Sun. Sadly, commercial and residential development has reduced rice production where I live. Don't see nearly as many geese around here in the winter time as we used to.

    In Louisiana and far southeast Texas,a lot of what used to be rice farms are now crawfish farms.

    My part of Northern California is the second largest rice producing region in the country, after Arkansas. The rice fields are the best places for duck hunting, too.

    Yeah. I commented somewhat about that above. We've got plenty of marshes,inland lakes/creeks/etc. and flooded timber for that,but far fewer rice fields than we used to have.

    According to your link and maps... I live in the Bible Belt. I like to think of it as God's country in other ways as well. The area is surrounded/filled with natural beauty.... one of God's masterpieces/ creations. imo. :)
