Ben Carson summed it up in a way I never thought of it. And he is absolutely correct. Here is what he said:

. He explained, “I began to think if abolitionists a long time ago began to think that ‘I don’t believe in slavery, but anybody else can do it if they want to,’ where would we be today? So that changed my opinion of a lot of things.”

    Link

Leftists have so screwed with our thinking that some of us "compromised" and said "I believe abortion is wrong, but who am I to judge for another woman?" What a crock. What we (and yes, I WAS in that group) were saying is that hey, if you want to kill your baby, I'll look the other way. I was wrong.

Carson says this about the Democrat screeches about the "War on Women". He's right on this also.

He said, “You know, there are those of us in this society who have told women that there’s a war on them because that cute little baby inside of them, they may want to get rid of it and there are people that are keeping you from doing that,” Carson continued. “And women say, ‘No, no, they’re not doing that to me! No!’ And they get all riled up.”
“There is no war on them, the war is on their babies, Babies that cannot defend themselves. Over the past few decades, we have destroyed 55 million of them. And we have the nerve to call other societies of the past heathen. What we need to do is re-educate the women to understand that they are the defenders of these babies.”

It's hard to believe but 144 Democrats in the House of Representatives voted against giving aid to a baby born alive during a late term abortion. Abortion is the Sacrament of the Left. I know that they're screwed up, but never knew they were this bad.

I bet if you look at the bill it was a monstrocity of moral ambiguity. Late term abortions are only done when the health of the mother is at risk or the baby is severely deformed or sick for some reason. As always, right wing religious nuts want to insert themselves between a woman and her doctor. You folks seem to love taking government out of so many areas of our lives but insist on pushing it into the womb of a pregnant woman. Do you think fertile wombs belong to the people or to the woman? I think you see it as part of the commons, a field of dreams owned by us all, controlled by religion and subject to the law.

We're not talking about women, doctors or wombs. We're talking about children. Don't you get that?

What I think is that the baby within that womb has as much right to exist as its mother has. IF the mother's life is going to be ended unless the baby is killed, then kill the baby. It's still the murder of a human being. But sometimes in this life we have to choose one life over another. Sometimes in the case of conjoined twins, the life of one must be sacrificed for the life of the other. BUT abortion 99% of the time is not for the life of someone to be saved but for sheer convenience of the mother.

I believe in the sanctity of life. Choice comes BEFORE conception. You have a warped idea of a baby in the womb. For some reason you are making that baby part of the "government". Something about "the people". That's such a stupid assertion I won't even address it.

You favor the killing of babies. It's your choice to be okay with that. But if I see you make a post about the horrid deaths in Oregon or Sandy Hook I will know that you are shedding crocodile tears because you have already proven you have no care for the lives of children unless it benefits you politically.

It seems there are plenty of kneejerk memes afloat about the issue. Call it "fetal tissue" and anything goes. I know from friends and family who have had abortions that there is a psychological and emotional contortion that must occur to justify something the whole God given, God imaged mind of man screams against. It is destructive to mankind and destructive to his civilization. That is not to mention the judgement of God which falls upon a nation that does such sacrifice to evil. I guess no one notices, or maybe the mind just reels, but the evil one has always demanded sacrifice whether from altars on mountains or pyramids or cellars or graveyards or fields of battle or Planned Parenthood abortion clinics. There is plenty of evidence that there are people who are distinctly aware of the nature and purpose and receiver of this sacrifice. And look what happens to the practitioners. Look at the calloused hearts. They are as bad as Hillary Clinton cackling over the death of Muamar Khaddafi.

The realization of what PP is doing, knowing that Obama and Hillary are both okay with putting a live baby from a botch abortion on a shelf to die, and realizing that we can't just turn our heads and say "I won't kill my own baby but if someone else wants to kill theirs it's fine by me". Either we're for it or we're against it and I am against it.

I agree with the re-educating women. The whole feminist movement in this country is anything but actually celebrating what makes women - women. And, convincing women that to get ahead they need to suppress their very biology which is what makes them who they are. And then they bascially sell out true feminity because they celebrate fake women like Jenner. And, reduce women again, to what they appear like on the outside.

There is nothing more empowering that recognizing that you alone are in charge of your destiny. but, we have fed women on the line of perpetual victomhood so long, is widely ingrained in our culture.

I am not sure if we can take it back, but I am trying to do my part every chance I can when I talk to my DD.

Speaking of the feminist movement of which the strange left is so proud despite their not being able to field bright young adults to become leaders of their deadly movement. The best young people they have are the likes of Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Luis Gutierrez both of whom need some work done on their mouths. That feminist movement that sucked a nation down the toilet was funded by the same people who promote the sacrifices referred to above. The devil has his own and his own do his bidding. His bidding? He goes to and fro in the earth seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5

I think the movement started out right. I mean - equality who can argue with that. Women should be able to own property. Have the same standing in court as a man, and vote.

BUT - then it became more. It became this idea of perpetual victimhood. That men the world over were seeking to be our opressors. That women who wanted "traditional" values and lives, were somehow brainwashed and subjugated. Meanwhile, telling women they could "have " it all, which is part and parcel of the amount of unhappiness we see in women because guess what - NO ONE can have it all.

I WOH and have devoted a lot of time to my career. THAT time has come at a cost to my family. Hopefully not to too much qulity time. But, it has cost there too. It has caused me to be distracted when on vacations or with my kids at events because something needs an answer. It has certainly caused me to be behind on things that would make our lives run smoother like being caught up on housework and laundry. Which my DH who works outside the home has his own chores and if one of us was not a WOHP - we could certainly have more of our "chores" done which would lead to more family time. So it has cost us. I feel it more intently though because DH feels that his role is less day to day nurture kiss the bumps, but rather to support the family - and do the "big picture" type stuff so he doesn't feel he "misses out" on that stuff where I do.

And, I can not believe that we can say our kids are happier and better off. There certainly seems to be more mal adjusted children - more on pharmaceuticals for example than ever before. More mass violence done by young people, etc. I think in our cause to be feminists - many forgot about the result of the children. Which is so much why the feminazi has to work to dehumanize them so much. They know that when women feel the maternal pull - they pull back on the stuff like work and career. They become more interested in the home, family and sacrificing some of themselves for the good of the unit as a whole. And, that they can't have - so they need to disparage motherhood and children which they do incrementally by convincing women that their children/babies are a "burden".

Women were more in charge of their destiny before these yelling bitter feminists took charge. I would have a well-behaved Liberal as a friend, but I would not have one of those feminists as one.

I've had plenty of liberal feminist friends and family and I've had my share of sly and not so sly digs for staying home until my children were teenagers. But I didn't mind. I was happy in my marriage and happy honing my domestic skills. I love to cook and clean and make my home beautiful. I love to provide a peaceful place for my husband. And he appreciates it.

For some reason I rejected feminism although I was a teenager in the 1960's. I admired Mrs. Cleaver and Donna Reed. I liked an orderly home and I expected to have a good husband, healthy children and a home that was a haven. And I did have those things. I still have a wonderful husband and the children are grown now.

I think I saw the '60's feminism movement come on too stridently too much like Venus born full grown out of the clam shell. I somehow knew it was a production and not a "movement." And it was. Young girls are manipulated into denying their own feminine instincts and now they are being sexualized in their tender childhoods. Taught to deny love and marriage all they have left to buy the attention of men is sex.

I am so glad to see someone who once accepted abortion as a right now reject it as a wrong.

I have no problem with present abortion laws. My number one reason for supporting those laws? Reducing the number of Liberals since they're the ones most likely to use such laws.

What you're saying is not true. Pick up your phone book and look at the ads for the abortion clinics. Abortions advertised up to 18, 20, 24 weeks. No reason necessary. Some are two and three day long procedures. Women fighting for their lives don't go to these clinics and undergo these procedures. But yet these clinics make money doing late term abortions. Watch videos of abortion clinics
advising a woman that they will even abort for sex selection.

    https://liveaction.org/gendercide/texas/

    https://liveaction.org/gendercide/new-york/

    https://liveaction.org/gendercide/arizona/

There's more from other states if you want to see those.

Here's some videos of abortion clinic staff casually discussing the late term procedures they do all the time.

    http://liveaction.org/inhuman/

People like LeRoy Carhart, George Tiller, Kermit Gosnell, just to name a few, did primarily only late term abortions and made good money doing them. Anthony Levatino did over 1400 second trimester abortions himself until he realized what he was doing and woke up.

The abortion clinics who advertise these late term abortions are not equipped to deal with women who are in the throes of fighting for their lives. And that's fine, because the women who seek out abortions there are not doing so to save their lives.
    Don't believe lies.

If a woman you knew was uninterested in keeping a house and getting married and having children, but rather wanted to concentrate on her career, would you deny her that right? If a woman wanted to get married and have children, but still continue to have a career would you deny her that right? If a woman wanted to not work outside the home but rather make a home for her husband (or wife) and children, would you support anyone else denying her that right? If a woman didn't believe that "buying the attention of men" was terribly important, would you deny her that point of view? The real point of feminism is allowing women to realize whatever their goals are. Women who scoff at the decisions of other women, whether to choose to be Mrs Cleaver homemakers or to be Julia (another early TV show, but of a career woman), are not feminists. Feminists are those who support women's choices for their own lives rather than impose on them choices they don't want. If you believe women should have control and autonomy to make their own choices, you are a feminist.

I expect a woman to have the brains to not get pregnant in the first place if she doesn't want children.
    I deny her no right.
And I support the human rights of her babies.... even the unborn ones.

Women are intelligent enough to CHOOSE not to get pregnant unless they want a child.

Obviously you don't think women are smart enough to make that choice or you wouldn't have written some of this crap here. Shame on you.

Live Action is an abortion itself, total BS. Might as well call the Simpsons a documentary for all the truth there is in anything that group puts out.

As I was finding the videos for you last night I kept hoping that instead of just blowing them off, you'd at least watch them. Clearly you're copping out. You can say what you want about the people at Liveaction, but nothing you say will change the fact that the employees of these clinics are saying what they're saying on those videos. And it's a shame that you have been so indoctrinated by the pro abortion folks that you can't even bring yourself to watch a video.

If you gave me a video, I'd at least watch it before declaring it BS. But then again, I'm not scared of having my house of cards knocked down.
I hope you change your mind and at least watch them.

Feminism was about those choices, Bobby. But the term itself been commandeered by these radical, whiny pains in the ass that push this victimhood agenda. And no, they don't respect the choices of other women who don't think just the way they do. I've been told many times that because I was a SAHM, I "settled", I "do nothing" with my life, I was "dependent" on a man because I was lazy. I've also been told that because of my views about abortion and this business of giving an edge to women just because they're women, that I surely must be subservient to my husband.

I was a teenager in the seventies and a young adult woman during the eighties (obviously). The message then was all about being free and able to chase any dreams we had with hard work and personal responsibility. Now though, I barely recognize a glimmer of that message in what passes for feminism today. Now it's about give me an edge in the college admissions process because I'm female. Give me free BC and a subsidized abortion because I'm a victim of my own sexuality. It's a disgrace.

I support a woman's right to have control over her own anatomy. It's when we decide we want control over the helpless anatomies of our children that I have a problem with. But even when I was young, and the rights to practice BC and have abortions were being talked about quite a bit, the discussion was NEVER about needing fellow citizens to pony up and offset the cost of having this anatomy.
