Wisconsin republicans vote to strip power from Democrats

Senator
The right didn't lose power, they lost the governorship. They retain the assembly. It's kind of like how democrats won't relent even though they lost the presidency and the Senate.
republicans also lost the Attorney General's race.

Fascist republicans are trying to circumvent the law.

Administrative restriction of democracy is of course typical to a mature fascism but it is not unique enough to be something that characterizes fascism. What we are seeing in Wisconsin is not fascism (which begins as a popular movement that builds its alliance with conservative elites by demonstrating its ability to impose arbitrary violence against their enemies) but conservative repression.

That has nothing to do with republicans trying to curtail the power of a Democratic Governor and AG.

Let's see you show proof of a Democrat doing the same.
Happened when Doyle lost the election in 2008. Democrats tried to solidify deals with the unions so that Walker couldn't screw with them.

No, that was Autocorrect failing me. Obviously the contrast I intended to draw was between the exploiting minority and the exploited majority.

Democrats do in fact represent the exploiter class, as do Republicans. They hate democracy almost as much as the Republicans do. But the majority supports them nevertheless because they consider them a lesser evil to the Republicans.
Those who vote democrat like getting free stuff off of the backs of the middle class, which Obama nearly destroyed.

In Trumplandia, “free stuff” means the means of subsistence for those who create the wealth, the “middle class” means capitalists and landlords, and the record growth spree for Wall Street is characterized as when Obama “nearly destroyed” the middle class.

I suppose, since you can't actually defend your position rationally, you would have to redefine everything and pretend that things are different than they are.

Yes, it is fascism. That's exactly what republicans are doing. Look at the political moves by republicans since reagan. There is no "arbitrary violence". Haven't you seen the rise in racism since trump became an illegal president?

Who do you think the "conservative elites" are?

Conservative elites=defense and oil industries, conservative billionaires, conservative churches and media.

Trump may be a criminal, but “illegal president”? He was duly elected.

I don’t see a rise in popular support for racism, I see racism becoming more marginalized.

Illegal president? This is why you fascists are dangerous. You will destroy any system to get your own way, loot, hurt people, cause violence, and turn the nation into a third world shithole.

They are making law, that's their job. They are afraid Evers is going to circumvent law.
They're not making law. They're practicing their fascism for all to see.

As was asked earlier, and without an answer, why didn't they cut the power of the Governor and AG before the midterm election?

Because they were working with the governor to get things done. I answered that twice now. And if making law is fascism, then I suggest democrat fascists in the house sit on their hands and not try to engage in the coup they have been working on.

And what are the 14 characteristics of Fascism?

Trump may be a criminal, but “illegal president”? He was duly elected.
He, like the last two republicans were NOT "duly elected". Bush was inserted by the right wing SCOTUS and trump was aided by russia.

I don’t see a rise in popular support for racism, I see racism becoming more marginalized.
It's funny that you would say that. What rock have you been under? Look up any studies and you can surely see how racism has risen under Trump.

I put in "before" in bold just so you would get where I'm coming from. They didn't pass those fascist laws because they didn't know who would win the election(s). Once they saw they lost, the held a late night vote on changing them.

You really need to look up what fascism is. You're kind of coming off as an idiot.

I know what fascism is. Calling me an idiot only make you and your repblican friends here on PJ feel good. LOL

You, and your right wing ilk, hold every one of these fascist characteristics.

  1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism
Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

  2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights
Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.

  3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause
The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.

  4. Supremacy of the Military
Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.

  5. Rampant Sexism
The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy.

  6. Controlled Mass Media
Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

  7. Obsession with National Security
Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.

  8. Religion and Government are Intertwined
Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.

  9. Corporate Power is Protected
The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.

  10. Labor Power is Suppressed
Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed .

  11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts
Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts.

  12. Obsession with Crime and Punishment
Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations.

  13. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption
Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

  14. Fraudulent Elections
Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.

No no, I'm not talking about the democrat redefinition of fascism, I'm talking about real fascism.

a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

Sounds an awful lot like the leftist movement. :)

Seems more like Trump than it does any Democrat in office at the moment.

"exalts nation " Cf #78

"MAGA"
&
"America First"
Trump
Please quote any Democrat that talks like that.

Please do not infer what I have not implied.
There have been Democrats that have done more for the People of the United States than Trump has or will.
But Trump had a reputation for exaggerated speech long before he announced his presidential candidacy.

I'd like to see where you got your definition of fascism.

Let me guess, Fox Noise?
