Wow! A Republican scolds Trump for his soaring deficits!

The official Republican position.....when they're in power:
Deficits don't matter
----Dick Cheney
---OMB Mulvaney
---Rep Kevin Brady
And with soaring deficits, they'll make the case to cut SS and Medicare. I almost wish Trump would be successful with that....as long as his supporters get the cuts first.

Well, it is former GOP Rep. Mark Sanford.

But how weird is that? The only Republican with the integrity to scold Trump for his soaring deficits is a guy who went off to Argentina with a floozy after telling his people he was hiking the Appalachian Trial...

;-)
AND yet it is CONGRESS who hold the purse strings. Laughable really. But of course a spineless congress that can't declare actual war either.

The opening bid is irrelevant. This is especially true when the Democrats control the House.
THE DEMOCRATS WILL REJECT THE PRESIDENT'S PROPOSED BUDGET BECAUSE IT DOESN'T SPEND *ENOUGH*.
That's a fact.
Trump’s budgets are “irrelevant” to his soaring deficits? He proposes soaring deficits, with crickets from the GOP cult, and that’s irrelevant?

Lame. So very lame.

LOL Because Sanford is such s stellar politician his opinion should count?
Your feeble attempt to imply the big spending Democrats have no say in the budget process is hilarious.
Spending is controlled by the House of Representatives which has a Democrat majority. The Democrats have never been bothered to curb spending. Never.
I come from the school that says "Watch what they do, not what they say. So while the Democrats are screeching about spending, my years of watching says they don't restrain their own spending when they have a chance.

Furthermore Bugs, it is the Democrats promising massive spending increases in this election, not the Republicans.
The Democrats are offering trillions in spending increases this election. Trillions.
I believe that is the definition of hypocrisy.
Annualized rate of spending increases by president:
Reagan 8.6%
Bush 5.8%

Clinton 4.0%
Bush 10.2%
Obama 1.4%
Trump (so far): 4.2%

So you admit there is NO defense for the endless spending promised by the Democrats year after year after year, but your diversionary tactic is the blame Trump.
That's peculiar. I don't see Trump trying to out pander the Democrats with promises of free everything. That alone blows your logic out of the water. Were Trump truly fiscally irresponsible, he'd be promising more than Bernie right now. Well, wait. That may not be possible. Nobody is promising more than Bernie.
No, see, the Democrats are proposing to use the public treasury to bring things to their constituents, while Trump is using it to line his own pockets.

Well, lookey there...GOP presidents hike spending much more than Dem presidents.

Ya think any Fox Noise zombies know that?

Why not? We scolded Pelosi and Obama for the twelve trillion in debt since 2007.

There is the proof.

And so now Trump is Obama and Pelosi is effing up the debt again.

Sure, but Obama drastically reduced the deficits GWB left behind. Then Trump came in and nearly doubled the deficits Obama left behind.

Seriously, don’t you feel idiotic for bashing the guy who reduced the deficits he inherited, and worshipping the guy who increased the deficits he inherited?

Sheesh.

From the guy supporting candidates who want to increase by tens of trillions in spending? Classic

Spending always increases over time. The difference is the GOP’s complete lack of fiscal discipline. They routinely hike spending and dole out massive tax cuts to the fatcats. The result? Ever-increasing deficits. Duh.

Actually, Obama's lowest deficit was the same as Bush's highest deficit and Obama's first term deficits were all more than double that. It started with the recession, but unlike most recessions, Obama had the slowest recession recovery in modern history. Only the Great Depression was worse

The Republicans are totally fiscally irresponsible. But your party is ten times worse. It's just hysterical you attack them for that. You're not wrong about them, not at all. Just your complete hypocrisy over it is terrible. It's like when you attack Republicans who don't pay taxes while you have zero to say about Democrats who actually cheat on their taxes. Flagrant hypocrisy

Nonsense. GWB left behind a $1.2 trillion deficit. When Obama left office that deficit more than halved. And now Trump has nearly doubled it.

I realize you can’t resist your pro-GOP hackery, but you just can’t argue against the numbers. It makes you look ridiculous.

Nope. We’re talking about the budgets Trump released. You just can’t blame them on Dems. Not sanely, anyway.
Not Democrats solely, no. But it's both parties. We collect over $4 trillion in taxes. We should be running surpluses. But neither of you will cut a dime

Trump's last year in office was a $450 billion deficit. The first year of Obama was the $1.2 Trillion. Assigning blame to who's butt is parked in the chair in the oval office is consistently your standard for Republicans, so you own it too.

In fact you blamed W for the recession that started six months before he took office. Just more of your pro-Pelosi hackery

Again, you just ignore the numbers. GOP presidents explode the deficits they inherit, and Dem presidents reduce the deficits they inherit. Facts. And yet you say the Dems are “ten times worse.”

You should turn off Fox Noise and get familiar with reality.

Bill Clinton did run surpluses. But GWB and the GOP then took power and converted those surpluses to then-record deficits.

The trend is obvious, but your GOP hackery prevents you from admitting it.

A lame DNC talking point. What was Obama's strategy to reduce deficits? How did he accomplish that?

You should turn off Fox Noise and get familiar with reality.
Another DNC talking point from the guy who just blindly quoted the left wing media. Yes, you do miss the days when only one side was heard. You've mentioned that. I have an interesting tidbit for you. Those days aren't coming back. Sorry, Comrade. You're going to have to hear from people who think differently than you do. Sucks, huh?

First of all, even if that were true, one data point doesn't establish your sweeping claim.

Second, it isn't true. Riddle me this, mindless Democrat drone, how did Clinton have "surpluses" when the deficit went up every year he was president? I have shocking news for a government loving automaton. Government lies. Whoa, you didn't see that coming, did you.

And again. How did Obama do that? What was his strategy to reduce deficits? And you brought Clinton into it. How did he do it? The DNC told you so it must be true?

They are not “talking points.” They are stone cold facts. Numbers. You just can’t sanely argue against numbers, no matter what Sean Hannity tells you.
