"But records, lawsuits, interviews and newspaper accounts stretching back more than three decades present a picture of a man who, before he was elected Florida governor in 1998, often benefited from his family connections and repeatedly put himself in situations that raised questions about his judgment and exposed him to reputational risk…

Five of his business associates have been convicted of crimes; one remains an international fugitive on fraud charges
. In each case, Bush said he had no knowledge of any wrongdoing and said some of the people he met as a businessman in Florida took advantage of his naiveté.

Jeb - questionable judgment, risks, no knowledge, naivete, business associates convicted of crimes.
same kind of business acumen as his brother George. in other words, not presidential material.

MrMike

Bless you all
Interesting.

What are your thoughts on the business dealings of a Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Slush Fund?

All okay or not?

1. What "slush fund"?
2. If you are talking about the Clinton Foundation there is no evidence that either Hillary or Bill have received money from the foundation.
3. If there is evidence that Hillary has engaged in pay to play is should certainly rule her out as a candidate. So how do you feel about Jeb and his criminal contacts or how he get rich....in fact he managed to do pretty well by buying property from an S&L (which went under thanks to republican policies) at a huge discount....no problem, taxpayers covered the difference between the S&L mortgage and what Jeb paid for the building.

Jeb made a phone call to expedite an IRS refund payment to his boss...once he got the IRS check for a million bucks he ran. He is still a fugitive....Jeb says he was naive to trust the guy....

Odd...A post about JEB! was met with a post about Hillary. Of course, the writer will say the post isn't about JEB!, it's about his pathetically horrible business dealing in which he claimed ignorance in every case.

almost forgot about the shady dealings of brother Neil.

in 1990, Federal regulators sued Neil M. Bush, the President's son, and other directors, officers and lawyers of a defunct Denver savings and loan association, saying their ''gross negligence'' had led to a collapse that could cost taxpayers more than $1 billion.

In a lawsuit filed in Federal District Court in Denver, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation stopped short of charging fraud. But it said that in the three years Mr. Bush was a director of the Silverado Banking, Savings and Loan Association, he violated conflict-of-interest regulations and failed to act to stop the institution from making improper loans, and in some cases illegal loans.

Sorry...no one simply responds to a top post with BOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH.

That's the good thing about JEB being the GOP nominee. When JEB wins the nomination,a buttload of the GOP rhetoric about Hillary gets completely taken off the table, regardless of whether it's true or not. It's a Catch-22 for GOPs because no other candidate has a better "path to 270" than JEB.

get back to us when JEB is actually accused of a crime.

I think those who were "associates and coworkers" of Hillary have had a far higher rate of untimely death and arrest than JEB's friends

Neil is a real piece of work....He sat on the loan committee and signed off to loans to himself.

An amazing family....from the grandfathers who did business with the Nazis, well after we were at war with them, to the sons who ripped off taxpayers, their investors....basically anyone who stood in the way of their own success.

"W" used eminent domain to steal land for the stadium that made him rich, then claimed "you can't sue me, I'm the governor/president".....The stadium authority lost the lawsuit and had to cough up quite a bit of money, but I don't think any of it came out of Bush's pockets.

Oh, no....not the Clinton death list again.

Jeb has been accused of crimes, as was "W" and his insider trading deal.

Accusations don't mean much....the Clinton death list is a prime example.....The republicans are great at smear campaigns.

You'll have to use your own judgement about Jeb's ethics. Since you criticized Obama for associating with Rev. Wright and Bill Ayers....is Jeb's list of pals ok with you?

1. From what I remember, and certainly from my own posts....if I am responding to a post about how Obama is the worst president ever it invites a comparison to the guy I think actually is the worst ever....and you guys, instead of responding to the facts in my post...simply dismiss it as "Boooooooshh".
2. I have brought up the hypocrisy from the right when they criticized Obama for Benghazi, but said nothing about the 13 or 14 attacks on embassies or consulates while "W" was in charge.....again "BOOOOOOSSHH" from you guys.

You've come to the thread with "what about Clinton" and no facts.....

MrMike

Bless you all
But...but... you're not allowed to ask about that "hypocrisy" on the left

I'm no fan of that Doofus Jeb nor the Cankle and I hope neither make it to the final 2016 election dance.

I would hope enough people vote for "None Of the Above" that we get another chance with new candidates.....

Nobody said you are not allowed to point out hypocrisy anywhere you find it....but do come to the debate with facts and not just accusations....'What about Clinton" isn't a serious answer.

Pretending you don't know about the Cankles significant collection of baggage isn't much of an answer either...
