Why I'm so disappointed in Republicans & the GOP

Your link:

"Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR)
For nearly 40 years, Republicans have tried and failed to open the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) for oil drilling. Since the 1980s, the effort always failed in the face of intense opposition because weak congressional Republicans were too afraid of the Democrat-Big Media coalition.

"They repeatedly abandoned the decades-old campaign promise.

"Yet, a provision for drilling in ANWR was included in the President’s signature tax bill with minimal backlash."

Like many of these "accomplishments" all Trump has succeeded in doing his make his class, the richest one percent, even richer than when he was "elected".
All Trump has done was turn around years of liberal stagnation. There is a reason liberals want so badly for us to suck up to other countries. Because then liberals can pretend to care about the planet while getting other countries to cover our behind on resources.

It's the highest level of hypocrisy.

The hypocrisy comes from indifferent Americans' profligate use of the world's resources with wealthy parasites like Trump leading the way. The US uses one-third of the world's paper, a quarter of global oil, 23 percent of coal, and 27 percent of aluminum with less than 5% of the world's population.

Where did you get the idea Americans are that special?

Where do you get the idea that we aren't. This is a capitalist country. People in this country have access to things that most people don't in other countries. I don't apologize for that. Other countries can follow suit if they wished.

It's basically the same argument as a homeless person all upset that someone else is a CEO. Where do they get off being a CEO while there are people living in the street?

The question on its face is ridiculous.

I consider you an uncontested supreme authority on bull$#@! sir.

BUT !!

Even if true your point is irrelevant, because I didn't.

FYI JD #17,
If there was one single logical or factual defect or infraction in ANYthing I posted, it would be a simple matter to blast it out of the water by simply:
- quoting it
- exposing it, &
- correcting it.

These blind, completely unsubstantiated dismissals based on bovine scatology don't merit serious consideration. What is there to consider? It doesn't even rise to the level of rational thought.

And obviously, the potty-minded disagreers that have dismissed it here simply lack the intellectual capacity to compose a logical argument.

But then:
If they (including you) were smart enough for that, you'd probably be smart enough to realize you & they are wrong, and that I am right, AGAIN, as usual.

I beg to differ, sir. I think your post was some of the best bullshit I've seen on this forum in quite some time. Even *Edited* must be lime green with envy of the fine bovine scatology which you dispense, and *Edited* is the bellwether of bullshit dispensation on the forum.

Where did you get the idea capitalists have the right to kill innocent people for their natural resources?

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/american-consumption-habits/#

"It is well known that Americans consume far more natural resources and live much less sustainably than people from any other large country of the world. 'A child born in the United States will create thirteen times as much ecological damage over the course of his or her lifetime than a child born in Brazil,' reports the Sierra Club’s Dave Tilford, adding that the average American will drain as many resources as 35 natives of India and consume 53 times more goods and services than someone from China."

What's your opinion of Trump's honesty/integrity?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_affairs_of_Donald_Trump

"An analysis by USA Today published in June 2016 found that over the previous three decades, current United States president Donald Trump and his businesses have been involved in 3,500 legal cases in U.S. federal courts and state court, an unprecedented number for a U.S. presidential candidate.[1]

"Of the 3,500 suits, Trump or one of his companies were plaintiffs in 1,900; defendants in 1,450; and bankruptcy, third party, or other in 150.[1]

"Trump was named in at least 169 suits in federal court.[2]

"A number of other cases (over 150) were in the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida (covering Broward County, Florida) since 1983.[3]

"In about 500 cases, judges dismissed plaintiffs' claims against Trump.

"In hundreds more, cases ended with the available public record unclear about the resolution.[1]

"Where there was a clear resolution, Trump won 451 times, and lost 38.[4]"
He's as busy as a cat covering up a pile of shit, doing everything he promised to those of us who voted for him. Were it not for the losers, on both sides of the political aisle, Trump would be even further along in his plan to do exactly what he promised to do, if he were elected.
Compared to every other president in the history of the presidency, my opinion is that Donald trump is an extremely honest man with a great deal of integrity. Coincidentally, Trump is surprisingly similar to Barack Obama when it comes to keeping his fundamental campaign promises. Obama promised to fundamentally f**k up this country and he did his dead level best to accomplish that goal. Trump promised turn that mess around and he is doing his dead level best to keep that promise.

Where do you get the idea that consumerism is killing anyone? Certainly not from your article.

And the Sierra club is hardly an unbiased source.

That cat metaphor sounds pretty close to me; why do you suppose Trump has been in court so many times during his career:

"Of Trump's involvement in the lawsuits, his lawyer Alan Garten said in 2015 that this was "a natural part of doing business in [the United States]",[5][6] and in the real estate industry, litigation to enforce contracts and resolve business disputes is indeed common.[5]

"Trump has, however, been involved in far more litigation than fellow real-estate magnates; the USA Today analysis in 2016 found that Trump had been involved in legal disputes more than Edward J. DeBartolo Jr., Donald Bren, Stephen M. Ross, Sam Zell, and Larry Silverstein combined.[1]"

Anyone who believes anything Donald Trump has to say is hardly qualified to recognize bias.

I'm thinking very few. Far more have died for liberal causes.

How many innocent human beings have died defending your profligate consumption since 1945?

My guess is it has something to do with doing business in New York. Mobs, crooked politicians, Unions, corrupt government officials are just part of the game in such an atmosphere. He has had to swim with sharks without being eaten by them. He's not a mobster and, unlike the Clintons, has not been accused of bumping off dozens, or hundreds of his rivals. So, he uses the courts rather than kill his opponents.
I am not naive about his business dealings. I'm sure he's done some underhanded shit in his time. Now he's dealing with the most underhanded, crookedest criminals, he's ever been up against, the Democrats of the deep state. Trump has saved this country from people like the Clintons and Obama. That is all I need to know about him.

Every second Trump remains in the White House, he buries your (racist) party deeper and deeper into disgrace:

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/19/us/politics/trump-tweets-comey-mccabe.html

"Throughout the weekend, the president attacked 'lying James Comey,' the F.B.I. director he fired last year. He also celebrated the dismissal of Mr. Comey’s onetime deputy, Andrew G. McCabe, calling it on Friday 'a great day for Democracy.'

Mr. Comey struck back on the president’s preferred digital soapbox. 'Mr. President, the American people will hear my story very soon,' he wrote on Twitter on Saturday, in what was most likely a reference to his coming book. 'And they can judge for themselves who is honorable and who is not.'"

Do you regard Comey as a bigger liar than Trump?

Which Republican poses the biggest threat to this country?

Perhaps a majority of Democrats disagree but I doubt a majority of Americans disagree. Now don't go Arkady on me and show some phony CNN poll that proves your contention that a majority of Americans agree with you. We both know that there are no longer any honest and accurate polls being done in this country. So it all boils down to one's opinion.
If Obama's deep state cabal in the FBI, Justice and State had not violated constitutional law in an attempt to prevent the election of Trump, and the prosecution of Clinton for her crimes, and continued a phony witch hunt investigation, after the election, with the willing help of a corrupt media, the lives of all Americans would be even better now than they already are because of President Trump.
The house of cards is starting to come apart. McCabe is just the first criminal to go down. You have to be concerned that this will end with Clinton.
Do with the polls what you do with any other data that contradict your preconceived notions ... disregard them at will.

Most countries are capitalist countries. The poorest countries in the world are capitalist countries. Just as homelessness is required to make capitalist fortunes possible, these countries' poverty is required to make a select few in other countries rich.

Extremely naive, but "there are none so blind as those who will not see." If you use a laptop or mobile phone, people died in wars over the conflict minerals used in these devices. Same with a hearing aid or the airbag in your car. Get your electricity through electrical cables? People died in wars over material used to make the insulation. Get water through a PVC pipe? Guess what? Golf or fish? Your clubs and sinkers are probably made of conflict minerals?

Under the present capitalist system, the only way to stop consuming at the expense of innocent life is to die yourself. I'd rather stick around and fight for a world that isn't built on blood sacrifice.

Actually very few countries are capitalist countries. Most countries employ some form of capitalism, but it's usually under a socialist model.
