When I came here back in 2011/12..... I pushed most of the buttons to see what happened when they were pushed. Today I found a button I don't ever remember pushing. The "Mark Forums Read" button on the top of the "New Posts" page.

WARNING: If you use New Posts to see the newest posts on each forum rather than going forum to forum, don't push that button. It took all the new posts away and now my New Posts button gives me just 3 posts.... it started all over. Eeek.

There's always the Recent Posts button. But there is no way I found to reverse what I did. So.

I know not all of you are button pushers like I am, but if I save one button pusher's list of posts........it will be worth it.

No worries. Sooner or later, lefty posters will demand that THOSE utilities be removed as well. Since the board leadership clearly indulges every snot-nosed lefty plea for FEWER options here, they will oblige. They always do.

It was actually “Dawg” that cried about the dislike button. Hurt feelings, full tantrum, the whole thing. Last I checked, he’s no liberal.

I did see it, yes. With my own eyes. He melted down publicly, you even replied to one of them, saying that he owned me and another poster for disliking a lot of his stuff. He then proceeded to create a number of new threads that complained about me and other topix posters and threatened that if he left, sponsors would pull their ads. It was an epic, butt hurt mental breakdown for all to see.

So again, the short answer is "yes". Questions?

In the most obvious sense; because you will not persuade any long time poster on here, that Dawg or any other long time poster alone could persuade the admin to penalise the whole board for their own beef, Dawgs post, what ever was or wasn't said, is irrelevant.

What is relevant is that the entity calling itself Bear Claw has, since it entered this fray, used the dislike button more than all of the other rotten posters, who have come and gone from here, put together --- and then had the temerity to accuse others of doing what 'it' was doing to 'itself'. Dawg may have voiced his dislike of Bear Claws over zealous use of the tool - but actually it was there for all to see .... and we did all see pages and pages and pages full of 'its' dislikes clogging up all of our alerts -

Our temp loss of the ability to simply 'dislike' a post without discussion and the ensuing discussions over it lays at the feet of Bear Claw alone.

Nope. You are indeed one. Any toadie can use a remote hosted utility to conceal. And I really don’t care that some folks lack the integrity to execute in a consistently transparent manner. Not my issue.

New guys always show up demonstrating historic grudges with the same precise swath of the population.
