Signs you are in a cult

Spamature

President
Listen up Trumpies and see if this sounds familiar.

1. The leader is the ultimate authority
If you’re not allowed to criticize your leader, even if the criticism is true, you’re probably in a cult.Cults begin with a charismatic leader who claims some supreme knowledge. They may call themselves a prophet, messiah, messenger, or an enlightened teacher. They can also be CEOs, military officials, politicians, and self-help guru

2. The group suppresses skepticism
If you’re only allowed to study your organization through approved sources, you’re probably in a cult.

3. The group delegitimizes former members
If you can’t think of a legitimate reason for leaving your group, you’re probably in a cult.

Because the cult considers itself the ultimate authority on truth, it can’t imagine anybody leaving it with their integrity intact. Thus, it has to perpetuate a false narrative that former members were deceived, proud, immoral, or lazy.

If former members speak out, they are dismissed as bitter, angry, dishonest or evil. Cults often impose some kind of shunning to shame former members and prevent them from infecting other members with the truth.

4. The group is paranoid about the outside world
If your group insists the end of the world is near, you’re probably in a cult.

Cults position themselves as the sole refuge from an evil outside world that is intent on their destruction. Cults thrive on conspiracy theories, catastrophic thinking, and persecution complexes.

5. The Group Is Elitist

Essentially, this means that the group — and its leader — consider themselves to be the cream of the crop. They aren’t mere mortals; they’re on a special mission to save humanity.

6. The leader is above the law
If you’re held to a different moral standard, specifically in regard to sex, you’re probably in a cult.

A prevalent idea among cult leaders is that they are above the law, be it human or divine.

7. The Ends Justify the Means

Basically, this means that the group’s mission — whatever it is — is to be held in the highest regard. Higher, even, than the laws and mores which dictate how non-members behave

8. The Leader Is Not Accountable to Other Authorities

This is a big one.

A cult leader, as the being who is in charge of the group, does not answer to any other authorities.

9. There is no financial transparency
If you’re not allowed to know what the group does with their money, you’re probably in a cult.

10. Fear and Dread

Most — if not all — cult members feel fear. It may be set aside briefly during group activities or gatherings, but it’s there. Even the most devoted members fear what may happen to them should they choose to leave (or even consider leaving) the group.

Nope... none of those strike a chord with me. Nice try, though.

Is the Trump legal position that he nor his family or company can be charged with a crime as long as he is POTUS, bull shite ?
If I cared enough to answer, I'd hit you up for a link to what he actually said instead of going by what you claim he said.

That’s awful, and not remotely accurate. The left is the cult to their religion known as man-made climate change. Authoritarian zealots lead the charge.

All the ingredients are there.

Remember the religious fanatic ringing a bell and wearing a sandwich board sign saying “The end is near!”? That guy is now a global warming cultist true believer.

The natural disasters are coming. The cult has said so.
Their insistence that we can be absolutely certain that this will come to pass is based not on science, but on faith.

All the trappings of religion are here:

  • Original sin: Mankind is responsible for the prophesied disasters, especially those of us who live in suburbs and drive our SUVs to strip malls and chain restaurants.
  • The need for atonement and repentance: We must impose a carbon tax or cap-and-trade system, which will raise the cost of everything and stunt economic growth.
  • Rituals: We must observe Earth Day, and we must recycle.
  • Indulgences: Private jet-fliers like Al Gore and sitcom heiress Laurie David can buy carbon offsets to compensate for their carbon-emitting sins.
Prophecy and faith in things unseen: Advocates say we must act now before it is too late.

And of course woe unto those that don’t believe in the one faith. They should be admonished, perhaps imprisoned, as infidels.

See that? Your story has already changed and we didn't even start a discussion.
Their position is more extreme that I even thought it was. Forget charging him and his with a crime. They say Law Enforcement can't even look to see if he committed one in the first place.

Efforts to mitigate the progress of a scientifically sound and tested observation, from a wide variety of scientific disciplines on the subject, is not cultism.

But basing your scientific opinions on which people or groups your cult hates is cultism.

Not at all sound, not tested- fudged by way of data and modeling. The “cult hate” is solely displayed by the left. As their religious leaders instruct.

Okay, no point in arguing with you on it. The decrees have been passed down to you from the elders that climate change is a hoax perpetrated by thousands of scientist who don't know each other, or are involved in their work, yet somehow have all banded together to say the same thing in hundreds of different ways.

They all “say the same thing “? Bullshit they do.
Your arguments and cultist fervor are crap as are your fudged data and phony ever-changing models.

Why do you think climate scientist are lying ?
They’re frustrated. Many hold certain alarmist beliefs that do not resonate with the American people. Many want more attention dedicated to their research. Some merely get it wrong, or are mislead by the few outlets that are in the business of fudging data. Some wish to remain scientifically relevant even in the face of their constantly moving targets and expectations.

Oftentimes the climate scientist data is reported accurately, but completely misinterpreted by the politically motivated.
