Trump fooled twice

Paul Ryan and company said over and over again repeal and replace (voted that way over and over again). Trump didn't do his homework to find out that the experts like Paul Ryan had nada, zippo to replace the repealed with.

All the experts said the U.S. #1 best positioned to deal with a pandemic. Trump didn't do his homework to find that the experts like Fauci are ZEROS.

A president cannot know it all. They have to rely on the experts to a large extent and Trump was let down by the "experts" in two big tests. I hope Trump learns his lessons for the next four years he's going to get.
Trump came up with his own Obamacare replacement plan. It didn't even get republican support because it sucked.

Trump consistently talks from his gut....and is wrong. He went on TV and said he was banning all travel from Europe (he wasn't) and that he'd also ban shipments of goods (he wasn't doing that either), but there would be exceptions from the UK...he was wrong again. The WH had to correct all of what Trump had said. His travel ban didn't include US citizens or residents and there was no ban on shipments of goods, nor was there an exemption for the UK.

Trump fires experts because they disagree with him. He's a child. He has hired a recent college graduate to be Director of operations for PPO.

He had a 24 yr old college grad to be the head of national drug policy (Taylor Wyeth).

When it was discovered the kid had never had a real job and his only claim to the job was as a Trump campaign volunteer.

And now Trump is looking to purge the government of people deemed insufficiently loyal to him.

No, too bad we don't get rid of all the communists in government with a little Joe McCarthy action. What McCarthy did was right. He saved the country for decades. Too bad leftist academia rewrote history in that regard. Alger Hiss was indeed a communist.
What McCarthy did was a violation of the first amendment of the constitution. He ruined people's lives based on rumor and gossip. He was every bit the man that Trump is now.

What McCarthy did was protect America. Nobody was imprisoned nor taken out and shot. They were shunned. Society has to have a way to correct anti-social behavior and that has nothing to do with the 1st Amendment rights. Those people could have packed up and gone anywhere to live their lives as they saw fit. They could have gone to the USSR.

No, they are different men who have accomplished different things despite different foibles.

Who did McCarthy have imprisoned? Who did he have shot? Nobody. Your whining is just too bad shit happens to communists who are NO better than Nazis.
He had no one imprisoned because he had no actual evidence of any actual wrong doing or law breaking.

If he had evidence he would have had people imprisoned. Which would have been fine with proof.

Fact is he was just making sh*t up, flinging wild accusations at people he didn't like with no actual proof of any wrongdoing or law breaking.

That is why History remembers him as the un-American POS that he was.

No, that was the "truth." The truth is more nuance and rehabilitative of McCarthy. Undoing it has taken time but it will get done.

Neither were they.

Do you undetstand?
They were card carrying communists in places of power or significant influence. Alger Hiss is a clear example among others that indeed we were infiltrated by a foreign ideological movement every bit as vile as Nazism.

And before, during, and after they were all free to leave and start over in political climates more suited to their preferences.
