New York's crisis is all New York's fault.

When liberals first started wagging their fingers in our faces about quarantining, staying home, etc, WHY didn't New York take that advice?

Why didn't people just stay in their homes? They were out conducting business, being in large groups and passing this virus while most of the country was doing the right thing.

Why does Florida have much lower infection numbers? Maybe it's because we took the advice and followed the law. Why should we feel sorry for a bunch of partyers who didn't follow the law?

Liberals here (most of which without ANY real documentation) claim the disease is spreading and that it isn't because a bunch of people already had it and just started having symptoms. So what has happened to New York is their own fault. They spread it themselves, rather than staying home and waiting it out.

Remember when President Trump WISELY cut off all flights from Europe and from China? Why didn't Manhattan just cut off all people coming into the city. Certainly they have the means, since every entrance into that burg is a toll road, tunnel or bridge?

Florida was smart enough to quarantine those idiots from New York and New Jersey so they wouldn't bring their viruses into the state and infect everyone.

And Cuomo somehow blames TRUMP for the lack of respirators, (even though he turned down 16000 of them in 2015)

The rest of the country is making sacrifices, which is why for most of us the crisis is slowly turning a corner. Areas with clear blue state leadership also lead the country in deadly infections.

It's self inflicted, libs.

Florida is just a few days behind New York, being comparatively an economic and cultural backwater, but in for the same crisis New York is seeing. New York was more aggressive than most states about addressing this. And their efforts to do so we’re loudly denounced as partisan politics by folks like you. If they had shut down Manhattan, you’d have been screaming bloody murder for weeks.

Then why for decades now have I been cursed with New Yorker after New Yorker moving down here to this cultural backwater? The only good thing is they are getting younger. The bad is they vote like [Unwelcome language removed] and act like they've lived here for generations. ha ha Central Florida is becoming a real high tech mfg. area.

New York early on pushed celebrating Chinese New years and told everybody to show up and not be RAY-cysts. Your typical virtue signaling crap that probably got NY in the situation they are in right now.

Wait till people go to Easter, you want to talk about contagion, that’s when we’ll start to see big numbers

Yep and saw them crowded this week...……...not 6' apart
I was there on Monday and Tuesday. There were only a few people at JFK, mostly employees and Homeland Security. I was alone on the Air Train to Federal Circle to get a car. No traffic, Manhattan was like a ghost town. Nobody walking the streets or getting in and out of the usually packed subways. There were a few scattered corner grocery bodegas open and CVS/Duane Reed drugstores open with 6 foot markers on the line to pay. There was a police presence there just chilling and observing. No bars, no sit down restaurants, no retail shops open. It looked as though the effort to control the spread of the virus was quite successful. Hopefully soon, we will get a grip on this thing and get back to normal again. I know many saloon owners, bar tenders, cooks and other retail store owners and workers who are really getting beat up these last few weeks. But New Yorkers are among the toughest, smartest and most generous people in the world and I fully expect them to bounce back when the dust clears.

That’s good news Dawg. After this is over we should join with the rest of the world in a plan of action to deal with this sort of epidemic on a worldwide basis and as one nation. That would include pooling resources to make sure everyone had the necessary supplies in reserve and a system of cooperation between nations to share data and scientific information.

Right now, greedy suppliers have State bidding against state and states bidding against the federal government for needed supplies. To me, that is disgusting. Those who are now price gouging and cashing in on this disaster represent the lowest scum of the earth. They should all be stripped naked and beaten in the public square, then paraded through the streets and pelted with rotten fruit.

Yeah and it amazes me media only reports deaths and not the 10's of 1000's that have survived. After Swine Flu O admin didn't restock Mask and it took GM that still owes taxpayers $Billions after bail-out to get Trump to EO war act due to GM demanding top dollar for ventilators...…………..2015 Cuomo was warned ventilators needed and all he did was form a Task Force...……...Trump and ALL Governors/Mayors are at fault for lack of action......…...a f-wit in Indiana posted a 9 roll of toilet paper on E-bay I think it was for $50...…..they should be scalded in a pig vate…………….AG in NC investigating 9 cases reported by Amazon for price gouging and I hope they do what you posted above or worse.

Why did Kennedy Center for Arts need $millions due to COVID-19?

R & D's in DC are swamp rats

I was in NYC in February (and in past years too). Here's what seems to set Gotham apart from most nicer cities:

1. Incessant tobacco use
2. Narcotic street sales
3. Uncollected trash
4. Rats
5. Bodega and corner markets with hygiene standards which you'd expect to find in 3rd world nations.
6. A general fear that some random stranger is mentally ill, or carrying a weapon.

I agree that we certainly need a higher level of service from our representatives who are by the way well paid and pampered on our dime. If all of them were tossed out on their asses tomorrow I would feel like we ALL got a reprieve and a chance to rethink our voting habits and an opportunity to hold their feet to the fire, cut the bullshit corruption and straighten this place out in a serious manner. However, as you and I both know, that is not going to happen anytime soon unless there is a cataclysmic disaster that wipes our 75% or more of the population. So I guess the best we can do at this point is to keep getting up in the morning and taking our best shot.

Cheers

I go there all the time and I find it amazing how clean, safe and generally hospitable and accommodating it is for such a densely populated area. It’s a great city full of great people from all over the world. The place I usually stay has a 24 hour bodega where you can get anything you could want at 4:00 am. The police are very helpful and do an amazing job of keeping the peace, helping the homeless people and preventing confrontations of any kind. New York s truly a world class city in every way.

COVID-19 has ended all murders in the city and opiate over-dosing...…...hell, NYC is so safe now no one in Queens needs welfare...…………...COVID-19 may be best thing to ever happen to NYC.

NYC citizens trying their best to leave and ensure COVID-19 spread all across America..........especially the Snowbirds.
