I know exactly how "gender" works. Someone slaps on a wig, cuts off a part or two, and pretends to be a woman. Gender is in the fact that the rest of the world is expected to play along.

That’s about chromosomal sex. Which is biological. Gender is something different, something cultural. Chromosomal sex also doesn’t always match sex as determined by genital development, secondary sex characteristics, brain sex, hormonal sex, or any number of other physical features.
