Execs did nothing wrong..but CNN headlines it anyway..you know for Optics

That article almost had zero adjectives in it. They cast a light on the transactions. There was hardly any commentary.

Although the fortuitous timing of the transactions may raise eyebrows, Charles Whitehead, professor at Cornell Law School, said the stock sales did not appear to raise any legal red flags.

"On its face, there is nothing wrong with these trades," Whitehead said. "It's what a 10b5-1 plan is intended for, assuming the requirements are met."
These plans regulate when and how many shares company insiders, including directors and executives, are allowed to sell. The transactions are typically executed automatically, without the insiders taking any action.

If they were confident about their company’s vaccine being effective, wouldn’t they want to hold on to their stock?

Indeed, way to take the civil libertarian tact:
“If you did nothing wrong...what have you to fear?”

What the HECK happened to actual LIBERALS? Where the devil did they all go??
I am assuming the executives who all dumped their stock just as their company was seemingly poised to make a lot of money are rational actors. If so, the conclusion inevitably follows that they are not confident in the product that would make them rich if they held their stock and it worked.

Unique idea...
I like the forceful straining of each word; you said a lot with 5 words. But I was really hoping you would have gone further and said something about the network or news industry, that would have given me basis for choosing this top post for an original content comment. As it is, we would have skipped over this top post.

(just practicing)

so, as you may have noticed, I've recruited some top notch help for executing this gig... now all I need is a way to attach this Original Content Comment to posts and also have it stand out in RECENT POSTS to the reader... so that, somehow... the reader can see; oh, that top post has a comment, that top post actually says something, think I'll go check it out.

It is absolutely crucial that the top post stands out somehow... a checkmark, something. Know why? Because that is what will bring back all your heavy hitters. They want the recognition. If the top posts with comments do not stand out, there's no point in doing this, unless you really believe it will change posting habits (it won't, it might a little, but it isn't worth doing for that reason alone, this is mostly about drawing all those stars - that really do lurk over here - to begin posting again).

So, is there any progress with the techies? I ramped up for this, thinking it was happening, in case it did happen, I wanted to be ready. Uhm, are there any techies? I really don't know.

Eureka, which means, "I have found it".

I want to take over that 2nd smaller circle in front of the top post. People do not need to know they have posted in the thread, they already have alerts. Change that 2nd smaller circle, so that, it only shows up (with my penguins) on the top posts, that I have added a comment to. Then announce the change. That will get everyone's attention. that. will. work.

... was that the bell or the whistle?

Not necessarily, but possible. The vaccine could still be effective but they believe the stock price has reached a peak.
It's definitely material information to investors, but "what it means for their vaccine" is pure speculation.

Insider transactions are very much news to investors/potential investors. If insiders are selling it might be time to sell.

not sure why this is even news. It is normal, legal, and happens automatically without input from the stock holder themselves, according to the article.

The stock was sold 'before' the announcements, so it was 'before' any changes in stock value. So, the article essentially proves there was no insider trading going on, just a typical stock sale.

Again, not sure why this is news.

How did that article put the sales in a bad light? They were sold because the price trigger was met and the article says so...

Funnier yet. You have a VP candidate basically telling people they aren't a certain race if they vote for someone that's NOT him.

And CNN is silent. You can barely find it on their web page.

CNN obviously had an issue with the fact that they did nothing wrong....so I guess they top lined it last night on their web site in block letters cause they did not want to give the impression that nothing untoward was occurring. Yeah that's it
