All Woke folk are spoiled brats. That's not even debatable. (Except to the bat guano for brains crowd here.)

One-Third of Basecamp Employees Quit After Founders Ask Them To Focus On Work, Not Wokeness, At Work

About one-third of employees at software company Basecamp quit days after bosses told them to keep ideology out of the workplace and focus on the company’s actual business.

“We make project management, team communication, and email software,” CEO Jason Fried wrote April 26. We don’t have to solve deep social problems, chime in publicly whenever the world requests our opinion on the major issues of the day, or get behind one movement or another with time or treasure. These are all important topics, but they’re not our topics at work.”

Tech journalist Casey Newton said about one-third of the company’s roughly 60 employees took buyouts shortly after, with one fuming: “Basically the company has said, ‘well, your opinions don’t really matter — unless it’s directly related to business…’ A lot of people are gonna have a tough time living with that.”

Newton reported at Platformer that woke tensions boiled over after, in December, a new hire “volunteered to help the company work on diversity issues.”

(Right away, I wonder why there is such a job as "tech journalist." But that's beside the point.)

It looks like an exodus of entitled idiots here.

Generally losing a third of your work force is not good for business. Management should be out of a job soon.

To replace social activists who feel that their workplace is the proper forum to lecture people on "wokeness"? I'll guarantee there are more than enough people who actually want to make a career out of their job to replace them very quickly.
I don't think a company with that kind of a reputation will do well in the labor market.

All this blather and speculation/smearing, and no facts about the issue.

Typical wingers.

As The Verge later reported, the initial motivation for the letter stemmed from internal disagreement over a controversial list of “funny names” of Basecamp customers. Several of the names on the list, which resurfaced several times over the years and of which management was well aware, were of Asian or African origin. Employees considered their inclusion inappropriate at best, and racist at worst.

Having respect for your customers, even if management doesn't, is so anti-business and "woke", I suppose.

Quality developers are definitely not expendable in this case. With the company’s current reputation it would be hard to recruit other than the desperate self-taught individuals who would be willing to work for pennies anyway. Sometimes with skills even worse than Indians at an offshore contractor.

The company will also have issues finding clients for their product, which is already abysmal at best.

Nah, expandable. Activists not needed or wanted. Kind of like when you all called for boycotts on Goya foods and chik-fil-a and they saw record sales? Don't you get tired of looking stupid at some point?

Apples, oranges. I had Chik-Fil-A on Friday with the kids.

Tech workers, primarily software developers are a different story. Plenty are Trump voters so don’t get me wrong, some of the Vietnamese engineering directors I play golf with are die hard Trump fans.

But when you come to topics such as... racial mockery of customers. No sane developer is going to waste their reputation on those kind of companies. Now retail fast food workers don’t really have a choice. But experience developers pretty much pick and choose their salaries and companies in this age.

Really ?
last day at the company. I joined over 15 years ago as a junior programmer and I’ve been involved with nearly every product launch there since 2006.

I’ve resigned as Head of Customer Support at Basecamp. I’m four months pregnant, so I’m going to take some time off to build this baby and hang out with my brilliant spouse and child.

We've already seen what these freaks call "racial mockery". The severely mentally ill think Dr. Seuss books are a mass racist conspiracy. It's not real, it's mental sickness.

Dump them. Easily replaced. Just like you, true Democrat.
