Amazon's Racist Edict on Clarence Thomas

Mr. Friscus

Governor
I missed this, but it's not surprising considering it got such little press coverage..

.. even though it involves the story of a black man's struggles being censored by Amazon, during black history month no less.

The documentary film about Thomas, “Created Equal: Clarence Thomas in His Own Words,” was removed from Amazon’s streaming service last month and the filmmaker said he was never given an explanation.
The film features extensive interviews with Thomas and chronicles his journey from “the depths of poverty” to the Supreme Court and everything in between, including his contentious confirmation hearings where Anita Hill accused him of sexual harassment.

So why did this happen?

Well, we all know that if black folk think the wrong way, they are subject to the worst racism that exists in American today, and are branded with demeaning racial slurs from the left in mainstream culture, and there's no media outrage for doing so.

But also

President Joe Biden, who was chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee during the hearings that riveted the nation, grilled Hill in archival footage used in the film. The films does not paint Biden in a positive light; Thomas told viewers at one point he had “no idea” what Biden and other Senate questioners were talking about.
Thomas spoke on everything from race and politics to religion in the documentary. It aired on PBS back in May 2020 and landed on Amazon later that year.

And of course:

Amazon did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Filmmaker Michael Pack told the Wall Street Journal he was never offered an explanation as to why Amazon removed it.

Thankfully, the Dailywire has bought the rights and it's getting some exposure.

I thought you right wing nuts were in favor of businesses being free to choose what they do and do not sell.

They removed it because they know Thomas supporters are against "free stuff".

Instead, they allow you to purchase it in accordance with conservative values.

I like how the used copy is more than twice the price of a new one.

I guess you have to pay for the extra cost of fishing it out of the garbage can.

How do you know why Amazon removed it?
Amazon hasn't even commented.
I have a very strong feeling based on the fact that if Amazon did have a legitimate reason for removing it, we would have heard it by now. I can imagine that even Amazon would have a hard time messaging 'we banned the video because we don't want blacks to know that through hard work and perseverance they can overcome anything'. It may create more black republicans, and lefties like blacks right where they are.

Who cares about your feelings?

Don't you think that black people are smart enough to figure out how to buy Mr Thomas's scribblings if they want to? You really must have a very low opinion of black people's abilities to feel that way.

Sad.

As we are seeing, lefties want blacks to know as little about Thomas as possible. And...since lefties are big on manipulating information, I'm sure they'll do what they can to make that happen. After all, the left as already all but destroyed black education.

Your strong feelings are not the same thing as knowing.

When it comes to lefties, they're pretty predictable. The fact that Amazon hasn't been able to come out with a response yet, especially after the Parlor incident and how quick they were on top of that, means that they are having to work harder on the messaging.

They know lefties have no problem with whatever they have to do to defend their religion, it's the sane people Amazon has to worry about.

Is there anything that Amazon could say that would change your mind? Or would responding just be a waste of time?

What could they possibly say? The movie violates Amazon codes of conduct? Other than "we don't want our viewers hearing from a successful black republican", they essentially have no coherent message.

They could say the documentary was boring, nobody watched, and it didn't make them any money.
Have you seen some of the crap on Amazon streaming? I doubt anyone would fall for that lie. Well, maybe a leftist. It's $10/month membership. Even the free content is making them tons of money.
