Teachers are opposed to masks in school

Governor
And this comes from Rhode Island, about as blue a state as it gets.

School committee hears from parents, teachers opposed to masks
SOUTH KINGSTOWN — It’s still up in the air as to whether or not students will need to mask up this coming fall, but some teachers and parents are already pleading with the school committee not to require face coverings in the classroom.

South Kingstown High School Mathematics Teacher Kim Lanoway said having to wear a mask got in the way of her students’ learning and quashed her enthusiasm for coming into the classroom each day.

“The mask literally dampened my spirit,” Lanoway said. “I love teaching, I love math — but the kids didn’t get that from me this year.”

The masks made it difficult for everyone to hear each other, she said, and most likely discouraged students from speaking up and asking questions when they were lost. It also prevented Lanoway from building meaningful relationships with her students.

“I didn’t get to know them,” she said. “I didn’t see their faces.”

Personally, as a substitute teacher I don't like wearing a mask. Nobody does. I can't see the smiles on the kids' faces and they can't see me smile. But I shut the fck up and do as I'm told. I keep my politics to myself. Being a sub means having the freedom to pick and choose the school you want to work, the grade level you want to work, even the town you want to work. And being a sub means not being held accountable for anything other than what you've been assigned to do. (Real teachers on the other hand are held accountable for the lazy stupid little brats who disrupt class, flunk tests and courses.)

I listen to teachers. In the teacher's lounge during lunch, I shut the fck up and listen. They are not shy about the job. They tell me everything I need to know about what's important in education. Teachers do not take time off. They don't take breaks. They don't discuss anything but the job.

Again, I'm not going to wag my finger at those who refuse to wear a mask or refuse to get vaccinated. I am not a member of the Gestapo and we're still living in a free country. That means we can think as we choose. And frankly I don't want to take the time to argue.

Those public school kids need a substitute to teach them how to pronounce their name the right way. Am I right?
Naw, you just need to file suit on the doctor who took out your brain and skipped town, Snowflake.

Jeez! All you have is personal insults.

Grow up, goose stepper. Not all discussions are about Florida substitute teachers. And considering that you are about as educated as a spear of asparagus, you have no room to talk. I've subbed for pre-K ESE classes with smarter kids than you.

If you are such a great teacher than why won't anyone hire you full time with benefits ?

In my state you don't even need a 4 year degree to be a substitute teacher anymore - just have the ability to show up................and pass a 2 page test. But then I am sure you are an expert on all subjects at all levels..............carry on.

To the idiots who struggle with third grade arithmetic, I'd imagine a home schooled kid who is acing calculus at age 10 could appear weird.
Then again, they look at public school kids as being stupid.
The home schooled children I know would not look at others as stupid. They might even know calculus but i doubt it.

Which state allows that to be possible?
Do they have to drive a school bus also?

Blue state, no wonder. Stupid people run it. Stupid families. Everybody is stupid, whether home schooling or public schooling.

Logical.
