Not really. I believe OP has a masters degree from UoP or something.

I went to crappy blue public schools OP likes to talk about so much.

They are way above my level. As to why they make less than my local burger flipper?(Whom they also love to talk about) Who knows.
Way above your level in what? For example, someone can go to a trade school and earn 100k a year as a plumber or carpenter, or they can get a masters in feminist studies at any prestigious university and still not make rent. It's not your level, it's your skill.

Capitalism is the system of taking labor and selling it at a huge profit. To believe otherwise is just republican booger smarts.
You do not know what you are talking about. You obviously were educated by a unionized Blue State teacher who didn't give a schit.

Grow up. Grow a brain. Right now you don't know anything.

Honestly, I just assume it’s small... wallet syndrome. Pretty common among fake Republicans, since real Republicans are wealthy in terms of capital.
You People are unbelievably ignorant when it comes to the simplest economics. You have no idea what you are talking about.
Small wallet syndrome? Yeah right.

We all pretty much guessed that your total lack of knowledge comes from the lax blue state schools you barely graduated from. It shows. And your idiotic attempts to change the subject of this thread (I've given up on getting the mods to enforce the rules equally here, so I won't bother to call it thread drift) indicate that you are pretty much the laziest fifth grade dropout I've ever met.

Boys and girls, the subject of the thread has very little to do with what the people are spewing. It's about one's work product and its value. Anything else is just idiots who are too lazy to start another thread.

Well OP likes to talk about people getting useless master degrees. I wonder what they got then? @reason10 ?

You’re complaining about individuals close to your tax bracket as if you’re better than them. That is small wallet syndrome. It’s not hard to find the pay for substitute teachers and timeshare sellers in this day and age.

You spend all day talking about people with low paying jobs. I’m just pointing out the irony. No need to get all snowflakey.

You must have barely graduated a school in a blue state.

Social Security is NOT a wage. If you even THINK that, you should sue your school.

Social Security, ACCORDING TO THE ORIGINAL ADMINISTRATORS OF THAT PROGRAM is a government WELFARE program that exists ONLY according to Congress's ability to tax.

(And that's almost an EXACT QUOTE.)
I'm not old enough for SS. I still work when I want to.

It never hurts to be reminded of how selfish and snooty the Republican position is towards low wage workers, the poor. The opening post does just that.

Whoops.... I might have upset a snowflake so all they could do is insult me. Now why don’t you go and report yourself.

I’m just pointing out the truth.
A time back calling a member a "snowflake" would got you banned, but, you know that due to not being a new member

You are NOT entitled to a four bedroom house, two cars in the driveway, a summer home in the Hamptons, four weeks vacation, JUST FOR WASHING DISHES OR FLIPPING BURGERS.

You are paid what you are worth, regardless of how much you need that money.

Human labor is shopped the same way as any other item. So far, nobody will deliberately pay $10 a gallon for gasoline (although if Joe has his way, we could be seeing that down the line). We shop for cheaper gas.

Employers shop labor. They will not pay any more than the labor is worth.

THAT'S THE WAY IT IS, SNOWFLAKES.

A dishwasher does not earn as much as a cardiac surgeon.
A burger flipper does not earn as much as an engineer.
An unemployed college graduate with a Masters in Lesbian Dance Theory does not earn as much as a community college educated plumber who is high in demand.
That's just the way it is.

You want more money, get off your fat ass and EARN it. Demanding it from government makes you an entitled ass hole.

Suck it up.
So you are cool with companies shipping jobs in this country to places where people will work for a $2 a day ?

Or if an illegal will do it for half what a citizen will, it's fine if an employer choose the illegal over the citizen ?

Yes, it is funny how the OP thinks it's okay to pay child laborers $2 a day to take $10 worth of raw materials, and make shoes that Nike then sells for $100 a pair.

But that is how you wingers think.
Heyhey the opposite would be “communism”. Let me say it again Commmmies!

That is not even a smart lie. It is just a lie.

Capitalism is nothing more the FREEDOM to trade VOLUNTARILY, to mutual benefit.

The rich get rich by working harder and smarter than those who are not rich. The POOR are just stupid and lazy. In a country with the greatest opportunity of all time, the poor can't even get off their fat lazy asses to WORK a job without demanding everything.

It is a FREE MARKET that decides what labor is worth. And your idiotic notions about all LABOR being the same pretty much sounds like you were less than educated in a highly unionized blue state, and just have NO fcking idea what you're talking about.

A dishwasher's labor is not as valuable as that of a plumber.
A burger flipper's labor is not even as valuable as an executive chef.
A janitor in a hospital is not as valuable as a surgeon.

You seem to think they all should be paid the same or it isn't fair.

Like I said. Blue state education.

Completely useless. You prove it every time you post.
About 50% of the wealth of the upper class is from inheritance. Almost all the rest is from unearned income. The big social antagonism is not between the basketball player who is worth so much more according to the market dominated by the billionaires, and the Covid researcher who is worth so much less; it is between both of them, the burger flipper, and the plumber on one hand, and the billionaires who live at the expense of those who work on the other.

Being a wage and being a welfare program are not contradictory. All welfare payments are part of the wage that the workers as a class receive for their labor, a concession wrought in the heat of sit-down strikes, roving pickets, and battles with police based on the simple principle that unless the ruling class, via their government, gave in, they would be helpless without the labor that keeps their society afloat.
