That's not what the science says (the real science, not the "scientism" of the left wing). The fact is that over 60% have been vaccinated. And of the other 40% at least half are naturally immune from having survived a covid infection. So why the spike in cases then you might ask. Here's why:

What's your point? Mine is that we're pretty close to "herd immunity" among Americans. If Joe would just stop letting hundreds of thousands of non-vaccinated (and infected) "immigrants" pour across the southern border, we'd be, for all intents and purposes, covid-free. So was that part of Joe's "plan" to "control the virus?" Frankly, whether it was or it wasn't, it illustrates his abject incompetence. Trump was a brutish oaf, but he was at least smart enough to not undermine his own "plans."

1. It mutates because it has more opportunities to mutate. Remember mutation is just like throwing a cup of dice. With enough throws (as in more new bodies to reproduce) you will eventually get more mutations with each transcription. Lockdowns and masking are the best things we can do outside of vaccination.
2. Vaccination centers have been wide open for months. You get vaccinated and eventually the virus dies out. You guys have made a big deal of breakthrough infections, but the truth is that they are rare. So far 99% vaccinated people who come into contact with the virus do not get infected at all.
This is a pandemic of the unvaccinated created by a right wing antivax campaign.
You were owning up to this campaign a few weeks ago.
But now that it has blown up in your faces you are lying and trying to place the blame on minorities.

The virus is mutating because there is a large reservoir of unvaccinated people incubating it. Immigrants have lower rates of Covid infection than the general population, although draconian immigration enforcement results in the infection of many.
