Yep! Now, don't we all feel really silly still slinking around with these goofy socks on our faces?
Yet no socks now with packed high school and sports games
COVID reported worse now than a year ago but all Fairs are running and other large gatherings of people that leftist use to call SUPER SPREADERS

Denmark has declared that Covid is no longer a ‘critical threat’. Will Sweden be doing the same?

Granted Denmark has only 5.8 million, but why does a Biden run U.S. lag behind? Shouldn't we do what Sweden is doing? Makes ya wanna move to Denmark...If you don't mind the cold.

I feel a bit lightheaded. Maybe you should drive.

Yep! It's like the cases go up and cases go down irrespective of what we do:

It's a different approach for sure

Hey, I wish all you anti vaxers the best. After all it is no worse than the common cold and only a small percentage will die, so live free and die free, your choice. But don't use my tax dollars for your free choice, don't go to the hospital but self medicate at the local vet supply store, hell I will even send you my leftover wormer for free.

I am not sure what you think you are achieving here but great, masks don't work or maybe they do work - does anyone really know? I, myself would rather error on the side of caution but then if you are a chain smoker, morbidly obese, don't exercise - what would you care, you already sealed your fate.

Die free my man, die free and show the liberals but do you have to keep bragging about it? seriously no one really cares what you do.
Appears you care or you wouldn't be ranting of it like someone in an insane asylum, leftist trying to make only illegals are Free

You are one of the covid nazis, right? So explain how Sweden defeated covid without a single mask mandate or lockdown.
Me, no. I could give a shit what you do. The swedish people as a whole are smarter than us. They give a shit about themselves and their neighbors, hence compliance without mandates

And here they are.

You are a mask Karen, if I remember correctly. Almost nobody wore a mask in Sweden. You want to take a stab at how they got through it without the masks that people like you say are so essential that even those of us who are vaccinated must wear them All. The. Time?

No I don't say that. I wear a mask when needed. Otherwise I don't care what you do...other than that it prolongs this mess. .

Really? So how is it that Sweden got through it quicker (and better) than we did with nary a lockdown or mask mandate...ever?

I thought I mentioned it above. Their people aren't comprised of a significant portion of idiots. So, despite not having any mandates, they did have recommendations to stay distant, especially if elderly or ill, to not be gathering in large groups, to take precautions where needed and so on. Their citizenry by and large heeded the warnings, and some significant subset of them did not start bleating like a bunch of wounded preteens about their rights and so on. They actually possess the capacity intellectually to figure out what's going on and they did what they needed to do, without any mandates and so on.

I hope that helped

Agreed that Americans are fiercely independent and less compliant. That’s a huge part of what makes us “us”. I think I have a pretty good grasp of this relative to many, because I am a first generation American whose parents immigrated to the USA from England and Denmark in their late teens with their families.
Americans have - in historical terms - very recently tamed a wild frontier, largely without government help. This fierce independence is, for many, deeply ingrained…it’s DNA-level stuff.

So, when some folks view comparative lack of submission to authority as weakness or ignorance - I simply find myself grateful to be here…thankful that my family was blessed to move from the flocks of the more compliant to a place of greater individual promise and sovereignty. :)

Not much of an argument from me. I'm also a first generation American. Among the first of our family born here. Irrespective of where you and I came from, and whatever the forbearers of America had to do to get things done, I don't see how that fierce Independence plays in a scenario where the requests are beyond simple

To me it's a conflation of wills versus ignorance versus stupidity. People can try and tuck it under the fierce Independence of the American will but in reality what it is is an idiocy it's playing out to the detriment of all.

It's almost like saying hey guy probably not a good idea to stand in the middle of the highway during rush hour. But I'm an american! The guy yells. nobody will tell me what to do!

That the central planning collectivist authoritarians agree wholeheartedly with you should give you pause. People make their own choices. And governments (and government-fetishists/leftists) MILK opportunities like this to flex.

It is no coincidence that lefties and Democrats always admire Euros. In the instance of this pandemic, lefties have even openly praised China on this stuff. They LOVE compliance and deference to central authority.

Yet, interestingly....the euros...the swiss principally, have got it under control. No muss, no fuss, just a wee bit of brains.

Doesn't take authority to figure out a pandemic is a danger. Far from it ...just a wee few braincells

Easier to control a populace when you eschew volition and citizen liberty. Similar results with things like gun violence as well, and forcing people into tiny tin can automobiles via artificial gas inflation.

The cost of coercion and compliance is simply too high. And - when push comes to shove - these independent, non-compliant Americans won’t stand by and watch Jews loaded onto trains (as did the Germans, the French, etc.).
