Covid is not going away.

This is the only unanswered post that has bothered.

I believe that local governments can mandate businesses to require their customers to wear masks as a condition to maintain their business license. I also believe businesses have a right to require their patrons to wear masks on their premises as a condition of doing business.

So why wouldn't I agree that the State health departments which inspect restaurants require hand washing? The fecal-oral transfer of Covid is not the only disease at issue so are a number of others. It is probably why the notoriously unclean Chinese were taking ass samples for testing Covid as the probable last exit point of the infection as people recovered.

I could probably not agree to hand washing given the fact I probably eat out once or twice a year at most. I've probably gone years without eating out... working in a restaurant for a half year back in the day really opened up my eyes. But I'm for hand washing.

WHAT I DON'T AGREE WITH IS MANDATING EXPERIMENTAL GENE THERAPY INJECTIONS, OR BUSINESSES DEMANDING TO KNOW MY MEDICAL STATUS IN CONTRAVENTION OF ETHICAL AND MORAL NORMS ESTABLISHED BY SUCH LAWS AS HIPAA'S HEALTH PRIVACY PROVISIONS. You could repeal HIPAA and medical privacy is still a human right.

False equivalences need to be confronted wherever they show their ugly heads. :0)
It is fully within employers’ rights to set safety standards and ensure they are met, and there is no privacy violation involved.

No one is mandated to receive “experimental gene therapy injections,” as opposed to a proven-safe-and-effective vaccine.

So you are only for preventing diseases that are spread by contact with contaminated surfaces ? Airborne diseases get a pass ?

Two points I'd make to you. Let me know if you've already read them and that I'm just repeating myself.

1) I believe that local governments can mandate businesses to require their customers to wear masks as a condition to maintain their business license. I also believe businesses have a right to require their patrons to wear masks on their premises as a condition of doing business.

2) What I don't agree with is mandating experimental gene therapy injections, or businesses demanding to know my medical status in contravention of ethical and moral norms established by such laws as HIPAA'S health privacy provisions. You could repeal HIPAA and medical privacy is still a human right.

All medicine is experimental.
Science literally doesn't even know how aspirin works.

As far as mandates go, that was ruled on over 100 yrs ago.

In a 7-2 decision in 1905, the court upheld the law. Justice John Marshall Harlan wrote a majority opinion, noting the century of understanding from physicians that vaccines prevent the spread of infectious disease. The chance of vaccine injury exists, but that risk is “too small to be seriously weighed” against the benefits of vaccination, the court ruled.

The liberty established by the U.S. Constitution, he wrote, isn’t an absolute right for every person to always be freed from all restraint.

“In every well-ordered society charged with the duty of conserving the safety of its members, the rights of the individual in respect of his liberty may at times, under the pressure of great dangers, be subjected to such restraint, to be enforced by reasonable regulations, as the safety of the general public may demand,” he wrote
.

They can't tackle you and stick you.
But that can mandate, and punish you if you refuse.

Your threat is duly noted.
