Damn. Colin Powell dies of Covid

Probably. There are differences among the various cases and the docs are not always going to be right. They would tend to have a better track record than the politicians who seem to think that 'one size fits all'.
What do the politicians have to do with anything as far as making a medical decision along with your doctor.. especially when there is an underlying ailment

It's the politicians who set the mandates. In some places there can be exceptions allowed because of religion or doctor recomenditions. In others people get fired if they refuse the vaccine for any reason. An edict like that with no exceptions is purely political.

There are a lot of people out there who are immuno-compromised. My sister is getting chemo, has been vaxed, but her docs are scared silly for her when she goes out in public. They tell her to always mask up, but then there she is around people at the store not knowing who's vaxed and who are the unvaxed pricks.

Doesn't change the fact that a person consults with their Dr in the case of complex health issues

It is not purely political. If we have an employee who refuses to get vaccinated they will be terminated. To have contact tracing identify our restaurant as a source for an outbreak would hurt our employees as well as the owners. Why in hell would we take that chance?

Consulting with one's doctor is not a lot of help if the politician's mandates won't allow one to follow the advice.
I guess it's a matter of perspective. If you don't work for the government or a government influenced entity your decision is your own. Between you and your doctor that is. Though as we can see by today's climate it may prove costly

Sorry about the fear in your family. That in itself can be devastating. Many doctors say that vaccinated people can still spread the covid virus due to a process called "shredding". Then there are the studies that recently came out of Israel that says that people who have had covid often have more antibodies than those who have been vaccinated. No real way to tell which is which in a crowd. She may feel better/safer wearing a mask but stressing out over who else may be in the store is unneeded.

BTW, I'm not a prick.

So some poor soul who has been advised against the vaccines by their doctor is just out of a job, eh?

Nah...let's risk the jobs of everyone working in the restaurant. That would be fair, right?

So far we have had one employee who refused. We asked for a doctors note and he refused, saying it was against HIPPA for his doctor to release any info to anyone.
We gave him a week to resolve it. He got a shot. He later admitted that no doctor had advised him against getting vaccinated.

Kind of..

..like an employee bringing a gun to work and not expecting a reaction...
C'mon now that's pretty far out. If it was really that serious we probably wouldn't be letting hundreds of thousands of illegals roam all over this country with no health requirements at all.

Okay, then, I'll call you a busybody who thinks they know best how a person receiving chemo should behave or feel. They, of course, weren't in the room when the docs made their case to the patient. I was.

Google how long antibodies last from a prior Covid infection.
Expect to learn that it's months, not years.

Whose right? You must mean it's the gov't's right to control us as they will. You must not have meant the right of the illegals because as such they shouldn't have rights in this country.
Huh? They can ignore them....just like antivaxxers ignore the harm they risk visiting on others.

They shouldn't but the times made it so. Why bother....right?

So you think I'm a busybody because I showed concern. So be it. BTW the word 'busybody' would denote one person, which I am. Then you referred to me as a group (they, their), when I am alone.

While I have read several things about how long antibodies last it wasn't from Google because it censors it's information.
