More evidence of Biden Administration incompetence...

His "energy secretary" can't even answer the most basic "energy" related question "how many barrels of oil a day does the US consume?"

Fake It Till You Make It? Biden Energy Secretary Fumbles Two Simple Questions In One Day | ZeroHedge

But she is a woman with zero experience in the energy sector of the US economy, so she's (obviously) the most qualified candidate he could find. THIS is why the democrats always (ALWAYS) fail - they could not be less interested in finding people who can actually do the job, and instead focus on mindless virtue signaling as the main criteria for appointments.

Another Psaki plus Kamala......, seems to be a pattern. I'm guessing Ego Joe had no desire to be the only scatterbrained official in his failing administration

How much experience did Rick Perry have? Haven’t Democrats historically appointed people with scientific backgrounds to oversee science-based bureaucracies far more often than Republicans?

Hmmm...Who did Trump appoint to secretary of energy? RIck Perry....Lots of experience in the Energy Sector? Nope.

Why would she know how many barrels of oil are consumed and why would she need to know? The second question was simply stupid. Hey Gennifer...how soon will prices come down? "Hmmm, let me get my chrystal ball".....f*ckin moron.

Look...at her level she has aides who keep track of that information...she has an undersecretary who minds statistics on oil imports and exports and how much of that oil is refined into gasoline vs other products. There are also experts who report to her on alternative or green fuels....Only Trump seemed to think he should be in control of all things and all information and if anyone disagrees...fire them.

When you have spent years ignoring the idiots who were appointed in the last administration....a recent college graduate, Taylor Weyeneth had never had a job and was the Deputy Chief of Staff for Drug Policy...

Or how about the Radiologist that Trump appointed to the Covid task force?

He was the Governor of Texas, which has long been a rather robust Oil economy.

Democrats have long appointed academics to oversee business, and then we wonder why the economy has been on a long, relentless decline.

LOL! You are the deepest sufferer from TDS. Perry had been the Governor of Texas, which is pretty much a "petro" State.

As for Granholm, not knowing how much oil America uses is inexcusable. But, of course, since she is a lefty ideologue, you are ready willing and able to excuse it.

The Trump cult’s idea of a good Secretary of Energy:

“Former Texas governor Rick Perry, who as a candidate for president infamously vowed to eliminate the Department of Energy but (“oops!”) couldn’t remember its name, raised alarms throughout the scientific community in December when President-elect Donald Trump tapped him to lead it. Perry, after all, has denied the scientific consensus on climate change, a potentially apocalyptic force that threatens to make the world inhospitable to human life if carbon emissions continue unchecked. More terrifying, however, is the fact that the Department of Energy actually has little to do with oil, or wind, or solar power, although it has some bearing on all three. In fact, the primary directive of the Department of Energy is to oversee America’s vast nuclear arsenal, with nearly two-thirds of the department’s $30 billion budget spent on maintaining the world’s most dangerous weapons.

Rick Perry, it seems, was not fully cognizant of that. Neither, apparently, was Donald Trump.”

What businesses have their directors appointed by elected officials?

Hmmm...who did "W" appoint to run FEMA? Oh yeah, a guy who had previously supervised judges at equestrian events.

Who did Trump appoint to run the Department of Drug policy? A 24 year old college grad who had never had a real job at all.

And who did he bring on to the Pandemic advisory board? Atlas...a radiologist with no experience in communicable disease.

Who did Trump fire for disagreeing with him on subjects they knew far more about? Hmmm...the list is too long.

So how did Rick Perry do as the head of the energy department? Remember when he said he wanted to abolish it?

Your suggestion that Trump appointing morons excuses Biden doing so is insipid.

My suggestion is that you are a hypocrite.

Granholm heads a department with about 14,000 employees and many experts on every subject related to energy policy. To suggest she should just fire everybody and be the one person who deals with all aspects is evidence of how little you know about running an organization.

Which the Democrats are working furiously to destroy.
Yeah...remember when the democrats refused to lend billions to GM, Chrysler and Ford and let them go bankrupt? Oh...they didn't do that, did they.

It was republicans who hated Obama for saving a million jobs and damaged American car sales by the bullshit calling one company Government Motors....remember?

I think an "Energy Secretary" who has no clue how much, you know, energy America consumes, is an idiot. She doesn't have to know "everything" - but she sure needs to know how much oil we consume!

You are the hypocrite here - bitching about Trump's appointment of Perry while acting like it's no big deal that Granholm has no clue as ENERGY SECRETARY how much, well, energy we use.

She has under secretaries who deal with energy statistics. She probably doesn't know how much toilet paper her agency consumes....

The president of the United States thought that George Washington won the revolution by attacking British Airports. He told us that windmills cause cancer. That made our presidency a laughing stock.

What had Granholm done that showed her inability to answer that question led to her making mistakes in running the agency?

What you don't seem to want to think about is just what her job is....it isn't management of oil production.

What he did was move them (much) closer to regulatory capture. The first step is to eliminate the internal combustion engine, and then, since electric vehicles, by reasonable measure, are more "climate damaging" than that gasoline powered, that will become the next target. The goal, of course, is to do away with personal transportation entirely, and force everyone to use mass transit.

I think the vast majority of Americans would say her job is to assure a supply of affordable energy. Which, of course, she has failed:

Energy Sec. Granholm On Rising Prices: “Working Through An Energy Transition…Off Of Oil & Gas” - Bing video

Sounds to me like her goal here is to make fossil fuels more expensive to facilitate the "transition" she admits is her real goal.

The standard, now set by Middleview, is that Democrat appointees “have undersecretaries” who are competent on the detail (Granholm) … while non-Democrat appointees are ripe for ridicule if they do not have precise, specific, specialized deep personal expertise (Rick Perry).

Middleview and Bugsy are in a see-saw back and forth battle contending for the title of PJ’s most awful, hypocritical, bought-and-paid-for, hyper-partisan stooge.

The guy directly calls out one candidate for lack of expertise while specifically excusing the other as more expert sources exist as underlings. And he thinks he is somehow credible, honest, or worth posting.

Ya just gotta walk away from these dishonest toadies.
