You can't tell Italian jokes anymore

In the Northeast where I grew up as kids we used to tell horrible ethnic jokes that would get you banned for life from polite society today. Different times. We don't do humor that way any more. And rightfully so.

When I saw this story I started formulating all sorts of jokes that could be made of it.

How'd yer "Daygo"? Mine's a "whopper"!

How many times did I hear that one. We're a society full of crybabies these days. We will slowly ensure that we contract speech to such a point that devolution will be complete and we will grunt at one another like cavemen.

I shudder to think of the racist stuff we all spouted out when we were kids. Funny thing was I grew up in a very integrated area. We had all sorts of Italian, Polish, Black, German, Irish, Jewish, Catholic, etc kids. And ALL of us made racist jokes at one another. Terrible things we said. Yet we played together every day. I doubt any of us had a bit of hate in our hearts. It wasn't til I grew up and looked back at this that I see how bad that stuff was.

Funny thing.... there were no Asian kids around when I grew up and just about the only ethnic jokes we didn't make were about Asian people.

That stuff never used to be racist until the left decided that they were going to redefine racism to "I can't tell you what it is but I'll know it when I see it".

People used to have a sense of humor. That got bred away.
