Sen. Sinema says she will uphold filibuster, dooming voting rights legislation

This dimwit dooms the nation with her idiocy…

She says “We must address the disease itself, the disease of division, to protect our democracy…” Got that sports fans? As the GOP enacts its laws throughout the nation killing off our democracy, Sinema says she wants to “protect our democracy” by preserving the filibuster that stands in the way of countering those GOP election rigging laws.

How about her fellow idiot, Joe Manchin? He sez “Ending the filibuster would be the easy way out.” No shit Joe. And it’s the only way out.

Moscow Mitch? He praised Sinema’s speech as an act of “political courage” that could “save the Senate as an institution.” He’s gotta be snickering his ass off. Does anyone doubt that Moscow Mitch will kill the filibuster when the GOP takes control again?

RIP USA.

The secret of the Democratic Party’s viability is that the balance of power is always held by a handful of right-wingers who will at any crucial point side with the Republicans to keep anything deleterious to the ruling-class interest from being passed. By giving them right cover, this allows all the other Democrats to proffer a sham alternative to the Republican agenda while ensuring that it gets passed at every crucial point.

Except that it’s not “voting rights legislation”. It’s rather an attempt to federalize elections and make permanent the temporary Covid-driven voting changes in varied states.
Anyhoo, these morons and hacks that seek to situationally change Senate or House rules are worthless political navigators. The very least among us.

It very much is about voting rights, and more particularly about the Republican Party’s aggressive efforts to suppress the Black and Latino votes.
Nah. That’s the crackpot partisan lunatic euphemism for making unsecure, loosey-goosey temporary covid measures permanent.
I’ll never observe the political naming conventions that partisan hacks insist upon - that would be stupid.

Keep lying about what the law says.

Because what it actually does is prevent states from changing the rules right before the election.

The states have their own rules for making changes. The federal government needs to stay out of it. Constitutional overreach - no matter how kooks try to rebadge and rename it.

Absurd, as always. The proposed federal legislation would ban the rampant GOP voter suppression laws and their laws designed to rig the outcome for the GOP when certifying election outcomes. Patriots are revolted by such laws. People like yourself love them because they help your GOP cult.

Nope. The critical need to preserve state autonomy in the matter in accordance with the constitution is paramount. No cockeyed leftist kook jargon changes this essential fact. Clarity.

You live in a fantasy world. Federal preeminence in regulating federal elections is not even questioned by informed, sane people. Federal votings rights legislation has been with us for many decades, and federal voting rights legislation is on the books as we speak. Whether there CAN be such federal legislation is not in doubt. The issue is what new federal legislation should say. Patriots want it to maximize voting rights, and you want the opposite. Patriots want it to prevent rigging of election outcomes, and you want the opposite.

State primacy in address of individual state election law is historical fact. We need to affirm and preserve this constitutional fact. Statist lefty stooges must be repelled at every turn.

Do you even know there is federal voting rights legislation on the books now?

You seem to be ignorant of that fact.

Irrelevant to the precept of state primacy in governing electoral policy. Please do not project the dope-smoking lefty attention span and focus capability onto others.

Your dodge is noted, as always.

Whenever you dodge, you lose.

That’s a lot of losses.

In the days of Jim Crow it was a fact. Then the federal government stepped in to end Jim Crow elections.

I feel a bit lightheaded. Maybe you should drive.
Where are the myriad news reports of people describing their (current) inability to vote? The fact is that nobody is experiencing "difficulty" in getting their votes in, and so there is zero need for these new federal rules. If you want to pass "voter rights" legislation, start building a case for it by conducting interviews of the Americans who are being "discriminated" against. As far as I can tell, they do not exist.

This one yaps about voters’ experiences under the new voter suppression laws before there are elections impeded by those laws.

Deplorable!
