Why can’t OSHA protect people against viruses?

It's a tough one, I agree
Yes, whether to respect precedent and separation of powers and allow for basic measures to be taken to protect people in the workplace, or to engage in unprecedented legislating from the bench to invent new rules that will inevitably cause tens of thousands of deaths and decades of suffering for hundreds of thousands more. A real conundrum.

Basic measures are fully enabled.. masking, increase ventilation as able, distancing, wfh. It was the prevention of overreach. Not new rules creation.

Ps .this ability to mandate has rested with the states throughout....so..deaths.. suffering..you'll need to point there ..

Yea... if Federal OSHA can't mandate the vaccine, I don't see how the states' workplace safety agencies can mandate the vax.
Congress either needs to mandate the vax, or the state legislatures need to do it. Either way it's a Republican roadblock.

States hold the authority....

Search for State authority mandate
States mandating this stuff seems unconstitutional. States can't regulate interstate commerce, and if a state comes back and says anyone from another state like who isn't vaxxed can't enter like Hawaii just did seems like regulating interstate commerce to me.

It's on congress. Where we have a republican roadblock.

Republicans: Democrats do too much. And when they do we sue them, and our hack judges help us sabotage what they do. Go Covid!

;-)
Yes. That's it. Meanwhile...

Democrats: We can't get shit done. Did we promise something? Waaaaa. Let's blame the mean mean Republicans. Waaaa. Let's posture as though the answers lay everywhere but with us. We sad. Waaah.

So now you are saying it isn't the state's responsibility to deal with covid?
No. If I were saying that...then I would have said it.

I did provide you the link and means to locate the reference that wouldn't load properly in a prior exchange yes? It thoroughly explains states authority

What I did say is the states are able to mandate. Schools are an example. Private companies can set the terms of entry to their businesses

Some states have gone so far as to ban vaccine mandate for private employers. Guess which ones?
Mostly Republican ones.

Republicans: Let’s pretend the Dems haven’t done anything after we sabotaged everything they did through litigation and otherwise. Deliciously dishonest!
