I got to get down to farm with civil war hospital and get ya a picture....it's so growed up around it, may have to cut trees/brush for a good picture
You need visit the one in Salisbury, NCBeen awhile since I had any new material for this thread. I didn't get to visit national cemeteries in 2020 that I hadn't already been to and it wasn't until October and November last year that I got to do that. Only 1 planned so far this year and that will be in June.
Have you seen the PBS documentary "Hallowed Grounds"? As soon as you've seen the cemeteries of the Civil War you have these to visit. We went to Naturno, near Anzio to visit the grave of a relative...I visited Nashville National Cemetery on November 27, 2021. It was a cool, clear, windy day. The majority of the soldiers there are Civil War veterans and many of those are United States Colored Troops.

Let me know when this one is being visited from ya bucket listWinchester National Cemetery. Made a full 3 day trip to the Winchester, VA area in mid-October 2023. Winchester National Cemetery was the second stop on the first day, October 13,2023. 3 major battles were fought in Winchester during the Civil War and many others were fought in other locations less than an hour away. According to the historical marker there, around 4,400 veterans are buried there and about half are Unkown US Soldiers. There are 14 Civil War monuments there.
