Texas Cops afraid to do their jobs

Correct.

Fortunately (or unfortunately--take your pick), nobody really knows how they are going to react when TSHTF. We don't have that many instances where we can battle test folks, thankfully.

Maybe we should have more real-life drills. Because whatever we end up doing with guns (likely nothing), we're going to have another scenario like this where the police are going to be expected to rush into a situation where everyone else is running out...and risk life and limb. I'm not saying "stage" a make-believe school shooting. But have something where TSHTF and see who is ready to roll and who isn't.
This is the point I have tried to make several times but our resident, dead shot, walmart camo wearing badazzes all think they would be cool under pressure and wipe the shooter out in seconds. So I guess it is safe to say, none of those right wing badazzes are on that police force ! After all the good guy with a gun theory being spewed........... well they stayed outside and waited for others............hmmmm

Again. Correct.

Conservatives live in a cartoonish fantasy land that simply does not exist.

Distressing videos show parents begging cops to stop Texas school shooting

From the article:

Harrowing videos captured the heartbreaking wails of parents begging cops to “go protect the kids!” during the Texas school shooting — with some suggesting they “just rush” the school themselves.

The livestreamed footage captured the unbearable anguish as parents rushed to Robb Elementary School in Uvalde where deranged gunman Salvador Ramos, 18, was inside for up to an hour as he killed 19 kids and two teachers.

“What are you doing — get inside the building!” a person howled in one of the clips, as another screamed, “Go protect the kids!”

Ramos, 18, broke into the school despite being confronted outside by an officer who did not open fire, officials detailed Wednesday. He was inside for up to an hour as SWAT officers reportedly waited for a staff member to bring a key for the classroom he was barricaded in.
A similar thing happened at Parkland. Deputy sheriffs there wouldn't run towards the sound of gunfire. (Once again, Broward County being the joke of Florida.)

I know, the concepts of Texas cops afraid to do their jobs just doesn't track, especially with the Walker Texas Ranger mentality that state is supposed to have. (The Chuck Norris version, not the Jared Padelecki version.)

But I agree here. Unless the uniform standards are different in Uvalde, these cops are wearing bulletproof vests. They are armed. In their vehicles are riot shotguns. They have tasers. They can produce tear gas. That school was stupid and negligent for having an unlocked door (and the lawyer on that lawsuit is in for a wonderful payday.)

Those cops should have pulled their weapons and stormed that place, immediately.

(I know resource officers at the public schools in my part of Florida, and they all vow to run towards the sound of gunfire. They will put themselves between the children and gunfire.)

You have no idea why they didn't charge in. And yet you feel it ok to spew your lefty cop hating puke.
I know enough resource officers, (who are full duty deputy sheriffs, fully armed and wearing bulletproof vests.) They all agree that they will run towards the sound of gunfire, (except maybe in Broward County.)

It's not cop hating to expect these people to do their jobs.
Conservative columnist Charley Reese once said that police are the best people in society because they stand between us and the worst people in society.
A cop leaves home every morning knowing he/she may not come home that night. It's part of the job.

And the police didn't storm that property for a full hour after he entered and shot the place up. A lot of children may have died just from bleeding out.

There is no excuse.

They could have broken the door down like they do when raiding black people's houses.

The door was unlocked. That's how that animal got in. And you just couldn't resist playing the race card, even when you finally get it right.

Thing is, every cop leaves home with the knowledge that he/she may not be returning home that night. Cops don't wear bulletproof vests and carry all that firepower just to look good at a Kiwanis club. They should know that "some shit may be going down." (to quote Carlos Mencia.)

I am not a cop. If I had signed up to be a cop you are damn right I'd do what I swore I'd do. I never wanted to be a cop.

I do what I agree to do. These cops swore an oath to protect the public. They failed to do so. If they didn't have the courage to do that they shouldn't collect the paycheck.

That simple.
I'm probably going to Hell for this. But I agree with that entire observation.

In the real world, a cop straps on a big Glock, a billy stick, a can of mace, a taser, a bulletproof vest, a chest camera and an easily accessible radio. When a cop is putting on all that stuff, he/she should be getting the hint that, in the words of Carlos Mencia, "some shit might be going down."

Yet, you're part of the Defund the Cops crowd and setting behind your monitor you can say you would have went in but can't prove that.

Sounds like Fire Drills we had in school and don't know if they still have those or not.

True. Someone who expects cops to put their lives on the line had damned well be willing to pay for them.

These cops had the presence of mind to use force to stop the brave parents who were willing to rush the school.

One OP you posted cops went in for their kids and now an OP cops didn't go in for an hour!

Ramos did NOT break into the school a teacher proped a locked door open minutes before the punk entered. How'd he know which door to use!

What hate - just posting the fact that these cops stood by and did nothing even while unarmed civilians were willing to rush in.

Why are you defending these cowards for not doing their jobs?
You're a Liar and those are not the facts and you posted this op to prove the cops went in to get their kids a LIE

Who paid the cops to stand down____________

The door was locked. I suppose they could have shot the lock off the door and possibly shot a hostage, or perhaps they could have rammed the door so that the shooter could shoot more innocent kids. But because you hate cops you stick with your spewed puke...

Your statement is full of lies. But then you already knew that...
The locked door was proped Open by a teacher minutes before the punk entered...........how did he know which door to use that quick?
