Europe needs the UK and the UK acts like a whipped dog as it desperately tries to do more in Ukraine than either France or Germany. ha ha

Meanwhile Boris screws around about putting a European border between N. Ireland and Ireland or in the middle of the Irish Sea between N. Ireland and Britain.

BORIS IS A REAL DONKEY. THAT EU BORDER SHOULD BE BETWEEN IRELAND AND THE CONTINENT, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ENGLISH CHANNEL. IT'S THE EU'S PROBLEM NOT THE UK'S. Churchill wouldn't have put up with this mediocre shit.

If the EU needs the UK (soon to be just England and Wales) then a border in the sea is the obvious solution until the EU comes begging for soon to be just England and Wales, to take them back.

You might be right but that is because the Brexit failure was orchestrated. Scotland for a long time has been a rather ungrateful part of a larger whole in the UK. The rot is bone deep in the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The English speaking people are in decline morally and ethically.

Boris never stopped the illegal immigration which was the largest point of it all. Apparently, They tried too late to save England. Third world subjects, third world results.

Sturgeon is play acting and she knows it. It is political theater but that is not to say that the Scottish will to leave isn't the greater sentiment.

Americans are citizens.

The other Anglo nations (UK, Canada, Australia, NZ) are full of subjects. Always have been always will be. As subjects they are subjugated. They have nothing of value left in the development of mankind. They are a spent force because their culture is diminished. Third world subjects, third world results.

Cause you're British Petroleum?
Partly, perhaps, but mainly because me mum is British.

My British grandfather got shot-through the leg at the first Somme, and the uncle I was named after got blown to bits by Nazis on D-Day at Gold Beach.

My uncle was a 24 year-old Major in the Royal Marines and even witnessed the sinking of Bismarck.

That's some interesting history. What have you done for me lately?

Of course not. The Tories wanted Brexit to fail and have done a great job of it. They never controlled their borders as was promised and they are paying through the nose to leave I've heard. The UK's mediocrity is plain as can be seen. The real British men of character must be slamming their heads against the hardest clouds in heaven they can find at the sight of the UK today.

Enjoying this thread. It's hard enough for me to keep up with domestic affairs, much less foreign affairs.

No, it was a dumb racist idea sold to dumb racists, and it's failing as an economic policy.
Only and idiot would think that Brexit would deal with illegal immigration.
All it did was create shortages of the legal immigrants they needed to prosper.

Also why do American bigots believe their bigotry is universal and not an outlier.

You must want my twenty cents. I supported the Brexit vote. Not on the reactionary grounds it was sold … restricting immigration is both cruel and foolish, and the UK had the misfortune of doing so just as demand for labor peaked. But Brexit struck a blow against German imperialism, which dominates the EU and is a more pressing political danger than British xenophobia. I fully support the Irish reunification struggle. I am also sympathetically inclined to Scottish nationalism, but I respect the Scottish working class’s choice (in their majority) to seek integration instead. Both the Conservative and Labour parties were sharply divided about Brexit, but the former more so. Cameron flirted with Brexit not just because of his domestic popularity but because he was playing chicken against the German and French to improve the UK’s position in the EU. He never thought it would pass. May was pretty strongly against a Brexit and particularly a hard Brexit, reflecting the interests of the banks and businesses with strong commercial ties to Continental Europe. But she was goaded by the populist wing of her party and by the DUP into an accelerated timetable in which the confusion of the ruling class was reflected in crisis after crisis for the government. So they got Johnson, who couldn’t care less about Brexit and only wants to stuff his pockets, because his is the kind of administration (populist, or semi-Bonapartist) that could push Brexit through while telling anyone who didn’t like it to shut up and take it. Of course that entailed (for all Johnson’s tough talk) giving away the farm for the British; he has no sticking point beyond continued colonial control of Northern Ireland. He has been fortunate that Ireland’s recent economic boom has been (as with every semicolonial nation) particularly punctured by the global crisis. But the British empire is falling apart the same way the EU (Fourth Reich) is falling apart. Divergence of bourgeois-nationalist interest as world war approaches.
