Still at an elevated level of deaths, so the surge continues. Looks like masking is coming back. You know...the "science:"

Got to follow that "science..."
Source NYTImes? No legend? Another school dataset? Kids can't wear masks well. And I don't know how you make a comparison. South Florida had NO mask mandate and EVERYBODY wore a mask during the worst of it.

You'll never know if deaths/illness wasn't reduced by 1, 3, 7, 10, or even 25 % because people wore masks.

Animal studies suggest that healthy animals downwind from sick animals seperated by a mask barrier kept something like 60% from getting sick during a specified time for exposure. Can't find the link off hand.

But if my clothes can catch smells from cooking, cigar smells from a bar room, or what have you then they can catch something like a virus to some degree or other. Not only that if you're worried about CO2 poisoning don't. A CO2 molecule is even smaller than a viral microbe. Fact is you say that masks are tested and have germs on them. No shit. How do you think the mask gets those germs? Wash or change your mask regularly at work or school and you don't even have to worry about that.

Today, the TxDSHS Covid-19 Dashboard reported 59 new fatalities in Texas in the previous 24 hours. The last time it was that bad was April 10th when it was also 59.

Another day of elevated cases and deaths and another day of no lefties willing to discuss the current Covid situation. What a shock - it's a loser and they know it. LA County forced to drop its intention to reinstate a mask mandate, due to widespread refusal by various municipalities' refusal to go along with it, because, you know, the science:

How is that possible when we see it posted here in PJ Biden said he would control Covid?
Now Monkeypox is spreading like wildfire and appears majority with gays!

He can't control complacency or GOP opposition to any mitigation measures. You can lead a horse to water....

I feel a bit lightheaded. Maybe you should drive.

Not just schools, actually. States...and even countries:

It's not that masks don't work. At least high quality ones worn correctly, it's that a) covid is not only transmitted through the air but also through fomites on surfaces you touch and then touch your mask. And then there's the fact that most people get it while hanging around the house with friends and relatives, where they just aren't wearing them. It's not the masks that don't work, it's the mandates.

Not everyone - but the ones who did had no worse of rates of infections (or excess deaths) than those who did it your way.

Sounds like the negative effects of the vaccine (three months post last injection) are affecting Texans. That is a true shame.

1) Sweden - over half the adults live alone in an apartment (something like that).

2) You can't overlay Germany and Sweden and extrapolate any meaning. For one epidemics travel in waves across geography so you should expect temporal displacements. That can only be adjusted with PCR analysis determining variant type.

3) Germany has a greater population density making comparison moot.

4) I DO AGREE THAT GOVERNMENT MANDATES DON'T WORK. Shouldn't be done.

5) Proprietor mandates DO work.

The mechanical study using lab animals demonstrates that masks do work to some measurable level of positive efficacy and anybody who doesn't use masks is foregoing good practices to their own detriment.

Mask wearing is a public health messaging problem. I didn't see one PSA about proper mask wearing or mask wearing strategy for the duration of the pandemic in this country. It is shameful.

If you are saying that most transmission occurred in the home, we agree.

The animals didn't get covered in fomites and then rub against the material between them - speaking of "not comparable."

Overall you might be correct, but the vast majority of Swedes live in the cities.

Actually, they are unconstitutional.

No, they don't - nobody caught covid by walking past an infected person in the supermarket. Now, they may have from touching the produce that the infected person handled, but not from breathing in the same air.

No covid is not "going away" (as the OP so presciently stated. But what has "gone away" is any interest by the left in continuing to discuss it. If that doesn't prove the whole covid-mania was political, I can't think of what (else) would.
