You must be a capitalistConsiderably worse off now. Life expectancy in fact plummeted when capitalism was restored as poverty and homelessness skyrocketed. And of course the people are kept under considerably tighter dictatorial control.
Other than the fact that under the Soviet Union if you attempted to leave you faced death. Pretty certain that it's a pretty shitty existence in either scenario.Considerably worse off now. Yeah. Almost like what made it shitty in the days of Stalin wasn’t something particular to socialism but rather reflected Russia’s prior backwardness that isolated socialist construction wasn’t immediately able to overcome.Other than the fact that under the Soviet Union if you attempted to leave you faced death. Pretty certain that it's a pretty shitty existence in either scenario.
Except that I've yet to see anyone with a monopoly on wealth. I know some people who are wealthy, but they have no monopoly, and are certainly in no position to deny anyone food.“They do it because someone pays them to do it” means “they do it because those with a monopoly on the wealth they create withhold food from them unless they do it.” Socialist societies (in which productivity is boosted due to the advantages of economic planning under workers’ control) have production motivated by the needs of the workers and payment by capitalists replaced with payment by the state. It took capitalism 300 years to develop a steam engine. It took socialism 45 years to invent the satellites you are probably using to relay your screed.
Let's not ignore the elephant in the room, right wing fascism.Except that I've yet to see anyone with a monopoly on wealth. I know some people who are wealthy, but they have no monopoly, and are certainly in no position to deny anyone food.
Socialist societies (which don't exist and never have) have no motivation for production. "Planning under workers control" (planning by a socialist government) has led to famine every time it was actually tried, whether that was under Lenin or Mao.
Socialists didn't develop the satellites you reference, Nazis hired (or imprisoned) by Stalin did that, and whatever Stalin was, it was not a socialist or communist. He wasn't about to let "the workers" plan anything, and if they tried to plan anything of which he didn't personally approve, he would have them shot, deported or otherwise eliminated.
You'll have to be more specific. In the U.S. I know many people who are right wing, but I know no fascists.Let's not ignore the elephant in the room, right wing fascism.
Why would anyone accept being ruled by the few?
I think I've been very specific. You'll have to be more specific. In the U.S. I know many people who are right wing, but I know no fascists.
I have apparently missed out on your extensive works on the history of fascism. Do enlighten me.I think I've been very specific.
Have you ever read anything that I've written?
If not, catch up.
