Puerto Rican Hurricane Refugees- Don't Come Here! (Florida)

protectionist

Governor
Right now, Tropical Storm Fiona is approaching Puerto Rico, and is expected to become a hurricane (category 1 or 2) at that time. 20 inches of rain is expected with floods, mudslides, washed out roads, power outages. All this points to the younger and more educated, and wealthier Puerto Ricans leaving the island, and coming to the United States.

As a resident of Florida, and veteran of many hurricanes here, I am advising Puerto Ricans that Florida is not the place to go, to escape the hurricane phenomenon. You could evacuate from Puerto Rico, and a week later, get hit with a strong damaging hurricane here in Florida. A better place to go is New York, New Jersey, or Massachusetts, where you are less liely to have more hurricane trouble, and also more apt to receive social services to help you get started.

They're sanctuary states too, so they are expected to welcome them with open arms. Although that hasn't been going so well lately.

Why would you just advise Puerto Ricans that Florida is not the place to go?
Why not Oklahomans? Or West Virginians? Are they immune to the dangers of hurricanes?

Puerto Ricans are American citizens. Thru can move to continental United States as they please. Why wouldn't anyone welcome them with open arms?
Martha’s Vineyard sez “Hi!”. You can GET a tan at Martha’s Vineyard…but one had better not already BE tan on arrival.

Martha’s Vineyard…nimbly NIMBY.

Puerto Ricans are US Citizens, champy. They can go wherever in the US they want. You and your nit wit sidekick Protectionist really are laying bare your ignorance. As a native of Pittsburgh Pa. and a former baseball player one of the people I most admired in my life was the great Roberto Clemente. He was a REAL AMERICAN. You people and DeSantis are poor examples of Americans. Disgusting and despicable creatures indeed.

LOL So it wouldn't bother Lighfoot if a few thousand of them showed up at her door step? Or would she ship them off to be someone else's problem like she did with the Illegals that were entrusted to her? Whatcha think, "Champy"?

Nice sidestep champ. Lightfoot, DeSantis, Abbott have no power to tell US Citizen Puerto Ricans where to go. I would trade the whole white populations of Mississippi, Alabama and Arkansas for as many Puerto Rican Americans as want to come here in a heartbeat…Whacha think of that.

If they showed up here for protection against a hurricane, someone would have to put them up. Like all the leftie hypocrites who virtue signal about being a sanctuary city until someone expects them to actually give someone sanctuary, I'm sure you're expecting the red states to deal with the burden.

You're a true humanitarian, Champy. :)

New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia. and several other cities are well known for creating sanctuaries for refugees from all over the world for decades now. All the while Fox News and the whole GOP rabble have been condemning those cities for doing just that. So what are you saying now? These horrible sanctuary cities are not as welcoming and accomidating as they should be????? What a distorted convoluted mind you have champy….What you talkin bout color? Virtue signal that! ….lol

Right, we saw how willing Adams was to give sanctuary. He was complaining about the influx before Abbott even sent him any because Brandon was flying them there.

So no, I don't believe you for a minute. Like every leftie I have ever seen, they claim to be good and virtuous so long as they don't have to deal with the problem. As long as the red states were saddled with the millions of incoming illegals, all were welcome. The minute lefties had to deal with it, they were calling out the national guard and crying about how terrible it was that they had all these illegals.

It's very entertaining to watch the masks come off. :)
