When you thought we reached the floor of dumb.. he pushes right through it, and downward we go

What is the protocol for a president to declassify information? Does the president have to get permission from the deep state state to declassify material by filling out a request form?

Are deep state crimes allowed to be classified as secret?

Just curious.

Now that those documents are not in his possession, I wonder how many FOIA requests have been received? He said he declassified them. If that's the case, they are subject to FOIA.

Dunno. Did you think the system to be..'just thinking about it'.. or perhaps something a tad more structured?

All that is needed is to think "this is classified" and so it is...right?

Hannity: “A president has the power to declassify,” the Fox News host stated. “You have said on Truth Social a number of times you did declassify.”

Trump: “I did declassify, yes,”

Trump later in the interview: "...I declassified everything."

Not one single document filed in the D.C. search warrant case, the Florida case in Loose Cannon's court or the 11th Circuit case says that. I quite imagine that his lawyers in all those cases have told him they're not going to sign their name on anything that says that.

A commentator last night made a good point. Trump has been in legal scraps for some 50 years and he’s always thinking about defenses to the charges. I doubt he’s really so insane he thinks a president can declassify documents through thoughts alone, and I doubt he thinks any rational person believes in declassification-by-thought.

But he knows that crimes require criminal intent, and he likely figures that, if on trial, he could claim lack of intent because he mentally declassified them when he spirited them down to Mar-a-Lago. No rational juror would believe that he actually thought that, but he might get a Trump cultist or two on the jury to vote to acquit and get him a hung jury.

His claim is obviously very weak, but any port in a storm. He must be losing faith that hack judges will get him off the hook.

And it also seems that, over the year and a half that the National Archives and law enforcement spoke to Trump and his lackeys about the documents he stole, he never previously claimed he declassified documents he stole. To the contrary, they falsely claimed they didn’t even have them. It’s just something he now says after/the-fact on TV and through posts.

Shocking as it seems, Trump is obviously lying about this.

It's whatever they decide it is, and in this case now that the weaponizaton of the FBI/DOJ is complete, they will tell us whatever it is that will stop Trump.

The blind faith people have in our FBI is pathetic.

sadder still is the blind faith you put in Trump.

Why in hell do you believe Trump could declassify top secret documents by THINKING it is declassified?

As I have told you before, there is a data base of federal documents. How would that data base get updated with the new classification if the president simply decides whatever he takes to his residence is automatically declassified? Why would he declassify documents without informing the agencies that classified them?

Not that you'll honestly think about those points...but classified or not, Trump illegally took government property from the White House...

You have to "think" in order to make a decision. Would you prefer the declassification process NOT involve thinking?

Thinking about it is not the same as believing he "thought they were declassified" and that made them declassified.

But then you knew that before you even posted such a stupid question.

You are the last person on earth to be talking about blind faith in anything. Why would you beleive the FBI/DOJ in regard to any of this? Why would anyone who has any idea what they have been doing since 2016....

oh that's right Useful Idiots would.

Don't worry, they are going to get him!!! This time they are telling us the truth....... they will get him just like Mueller did.....

If he "decided" they were "declassified" by thinking "I am declassifying" this, is that prohibited by any law?

Try answering any of the points in my post.

Did Trump have government documents at Mar-A-Lago? Were any of those documents marked top secret? Was that a violation of the law.

Trump says he declassified the documents....but did not follow the accepted and documented process of notifying the archives or the original agency. The judge has ruled that without any paper trail of the declassification...it didn't happen.

Yet, here you are attempting to bury the facts behind spurious accusations aimed at the DoJ and FBI.
