Putin will take a chunk of eastern Ukraine while the west shits itself over nuke threats

I get that you want that and, if that were a way to do it, I'd be all for it. But that won't happen without US (and allies) boots on the ground (or the always popular nuke option). Russia has consolidated in the southern and eastern regions it controls and is in a pretty good position to defend them. And can continue to lob missiles into the non-occupied zones. A long war is in no one's best interest, but if the rationale is that eventually Russia will lose to Ukrainian forces, well, that's just plan idiotic.
The rationale is that Putin will be removed before he can launch a nuke because they don't understand that when Putin talks of first use nukes against an existential threat he is talking about an existential threat to him personally (and his cadre of Siloviki). It is all in the definition of what is an existential threat to the Russia state. And Brandon and his cadre of tribe doesn't get it.

russia is in no condition to maintain a 'pretty good position'.. we'll see.

the rationale is precisely that. their able bodied are fleeing en masse, their internal populace is in an uproar, battlefield soldiers are getting their ass kicked and or fleeing. what it is some sort of ruse....theyre all pretending to be driving aroun in dilapidated shit withou direction..waiting to pounce and spring some master plan??
The Russian Army has problems:

Videos shared on social media show newly mobilized Russian troops enduring cramped conditions, a lack of food and being informed they should use tampons to stem the blood from bullet wounds due to a lack of equipment.

One clip shared by the Twitter account Ukraine Reporter shows a Russian conscript recounting how his unit was being punished for a previous video in which complaints were made about their conditions.

The soldier holding the camera is heard describing how following the complaint video made two days before, "we have been warned that conditions will get even worse. Today they have restricted access to the bathroom." They have also been denied food and water, he added. "Russia's mobilization looks like mass incarceration to a growing number of soldiers," Ukraine Reporter tweeted.

News outlet Nexta tweeted a video of a military unit representative in the Altai region in southern Siberia telling conscripts to buy everything including medicines and tourniquets.

"You will be given armor and a uniform, nothing else," she said, before telling them to get first aid kits from cars, "get the tourniquets from there."

She said soldiers should use women's tampons to treat bullet wounds. "In case of a bullet wound, put it directly in the hole, there it begins to swell."

"Make sure to buy cheap pads, do you understand?" she said, "guys, take care of yourselves."

I feel a bit lightheaded. Maybe you should drive.

I don't know what to believe anymore - it's all propaganda. All I know is that the USA is expecting seeing to it that it lasts indefinitely:

Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder told Pentagon reporters on Tuesday that six more of the Norwegian-developed weapons will be delivered in the future, as much as a year or two from now. Recent reports that some of the U.S.-provided NASAMS were already in Ukraine were not correct.

Advanced anti-aircraft weapons head to Ukraine in 2 months (msn.com)

Looks to me like Brandon is dragging his feet and, you know what that means - more dead Ukrainians.

we are closer than ever to the earth being a smoldering pile of nuclear rubble as it is. so sitting around letting a bully be a bully or getting in the bully's face isnt making much of a difference now is it?

if Ukraine forces Russia further eastward (out of donbass, etc) it is very likely we'll see a nuke used. now what? let it pass? then Putin rules.
It’s true that Putin’s Ukraine war already runs the risk of his use of nukes. It’s also true that there are things we could do to dramatically increase that risk, such as putting our troops in there to fight with Russian troops. Because a risk exists now is not a reason to take actions to dramatically increase that risk.

the risk is about as high as can be.....i.e. any moment he could drop a tactical nuke

then what?

Feels like any action other than a retaliation on Russian territory would be a fart in a windstorm. Biden spokesman said something about a devastating and catastrophic response from the US that would not have to be nuclear. Maybe a complete destruction of Russia's Baltic Fleet and the base at Sevastapol?

Then whatever Biden chooses to do/say next is the perfect, unerring, masterful strategy…and if you even question or ponder it, you are a “mindless carper”. After all…”what would you do differently?”

There ya go. I just saved you needless wasting of time. You’re welcome. :)

..boop. looks like it is done. putin out wits the west agin...this time with the nuke threat.
Putin fluffed and finessed the issue with his bogus polling/vote set-up rouse. You’re correct that he’ll annex. Why wouldn’t he? Fear of being yelled at?

Or then whatever Biden chooses to do it will be wrong. That is why you won't commit to a suggested course of action. You aren't interested in solutions.

We will continue sanctions and may come up with additional ones. Putin's economy may just force him to give up on annexation. His mobilization plus American businesses leaving as well as sanctions are thought to be destroying his economy.

Then you and the other righties would be on the same page in your griping on this issue.

Last I checked Ukrainian govt suspended all political opposition parties <link>, dissolved the free press <link>, and is threatening 5 years in prison for casting a vote <link>
Ukraine is at war. Political parties supporting the invasion, media reporting Russian propaganda and those who participate in the Russian hoax of an election are targeted in self-defense.

Notice they are not rounding up citizens of Russian heritage and putting them in camps as the US did in 1942. Sometimes the response to a national emergency isn't the best example of the national values.

Are you another one for whom English is the second language? I didn't suspend all political opposition parties, he suspended those supporting or favorable to Russia, you may not have noticed but they're at war. He didn't dissolve the free press, he unified the press, at least read what you post. And by the way the Ukrainian press is spewing news day in and day out all over every media channel there is, that's the opposite of suspending the Free press. Five year penalty for doing what? Again can you read?
