As is nearly always the case. It’s a d*mn good thing that direct, intentional dishonesty is not a rules violation in this forum. There are several of these guys who ply it constantly.

Starbucks is NOT my favorite business - and I am a Seattle area native (who occasionally frequented the original flagship cafe near Pike Place Market. The chain is now largely known as crucible of weird, entitled, young folks - some with worthless degrees, others drifting aimlessly.

yes. good cup of coffee... though the overwhelming number of sales is an array of sugared concoctions that people overwork into orders that are designed to be super complex...seemingly to meet some level of specialty drink. but it's really sugared junk.

employees work up to a certain level of salary..then they are replaced wholesale....with less costly emplyees.

that's about it...

You need to be intelligent enough to make elementary inferences for that.

Yep. Agreed. Weird establishment to see protests or moves toward unionization.

No. An example of a typical barista’s experience … everyone is working at the same pace and hundreds are participating in the protest because they feel dehumanized.
no, an example of one. most starbucks people frequent are neat and ordered...and efficient..

Which has nothing to do with the expectation of serving a new customer every 10 seconds for 4 hours until your first break while person after person is screaming at you for not being fast enough.

Highly specialized, highly sought after skill…requiring years of training and apprenticeship.
:-/
It’s a skill for which there is consumer demand requiring that people do it. Therefore those people that society demands take those jobs should be able to live without abuse and afford the basic necessities of life.

People who make comments like this are the sort of people who couldn’t last a day working at a Starbucks or any other customer service field.
people who make comments like that have worked, and know, and learned... dont like it, cant handle it...then leave the job..find another.

people who are immature, attack..... as is their pitiable way.

I run a $20 million dollar book of customer facing business... so, no. i'm very sure what I can or cant last at.

One person leaving the job and finding another won’t change the fact that whoever is doing the job is exploited and abused.
