What a shock - Biden's CIA director, in 2008 wrote a prophetic memo regarding Ukraine/NATO...

I feel a bit lightheaded. Maybe you should drive.
Your justification for Putin's war is pretty hard to stomach.
Laying out the facts about how it came about is critical to a) avoiding WWIII here and b) discredit the neocons so they can never do anything like this ever again.

Falsely characterizing it as a "defense" of the war is SOP for authoritarian azzholes.

Really? So your opinion is a fact?

You write that there is justification for Putin's invasion....and he is the authoritarian azzhole.

100,000 people demonstrated in Kyiv when Yanukovich canceled the EU deal.
What was the population of Ukraine in 2014?
About 45 million:rolleyes:
After the US used fascistic elements to plunge Ukraine into civil war in 2014, "targeting the industrial heart of the country in the eastern Donetsk area and largely cutting off trade with Russia", a depression resulted and the IMF responded with a $17 billion loan:

https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2015/03/13/imfu-m13.html

"After shrinking by a stunning 7 percent in 2014, its economy is projected to contract by a further 5.5 to 12 percent this year (2015).

"Though its currency, the hryvnia, has recovered half of its losses since the signing of a cease-fire in Minsk last month, it is still down 27 percent this year.

"Initial IMF payments will go to key creditors of the Ukrainian government, which include major US financial firms PIMCO, BlackRock and Franklin Templeton Investments.

"The Russian government also owns roughly $3 billion of Ukraine’s $69 billion debt."

The US version of "free-trade imperialism" and financial parasitism stands the classical economists' understanding of free markets on its head. Instead of a market free from landlords, bankers, and monopoly rents, neoliberal economics lives in the short term, preferring to make money by financial engineering instead of industrial engineering.

Ukraine is merely their latest victim.

Anti-Yushenko demonstrations around the country were estimated to be about 800,000 people.

The GDP of Ukraine dropped 15% in 2009 and 10% in 2014. Gee, could the invasion of Donbas and the Russian takeover of Crimea have had anything to do with that?

Less than the IMF decision to join the New Cold War against Russia.

https://michael-hudson.com/2015/12/the-imf-forgives-ukraines-loan-to-russia/

"But on Tuesday, (2014) the IMF joined the New Cold War.

"It has been lending money to Ukraine despite the Fund’s rules blocking it from lending to countries with no visible chance of paying (the 'No More Argentinas' rule from 2001).

"When IMF head Christine Lagarde made the last IMF loan to Ukraine in the spring, she expressed the hope that there would be peace.

"But President Porochenko immediately announced that he would use the proceeds to step up his nation’s civil war with the Russian-speaking population in the East – the Donbass.

That is the region where most Ukrainian exports have been made – mainly to Russia.

"This market is now lost for the foreseeable future.

"It may be a long break, because the country is run by the U.S.-backed junta put in place after the right-wing coup of winter 2014"

The US-backed coup in 2014 is why millions of Ukrainians are dead, maimed, and displaced today.
Not unlike the millions of Koreans, Laotians, Cambodians, Vietnamese, Central American, Iraqi, and Afghan civilians all crucified on America's Cross of Gold.

No I did not. You can repeat that a million times but the fact remains, citing factual historical events and communications is never ever ever ever "justifying" anything, other than, well, the facts.

First, of course, Ukraine was not a member of NATO.

As important, NATO members pose no threat to Russia. No NATO member invaded Russia, and none will. Putin knows that. You are gullible enough to believe Putin and his cronies when they say they had to invade Ukraine for defensive reasons. Or, even more laughable, to “de-Nazify” Ukraine. You are what is known as a useful idiot.
NATO and the US instigated a coup in Ukraine in 2014 that was spearheaded by neo-Nazi with the intent of installing a pro-western puppet regime in Kiev dedicated to inciting a civil war.

That is the opinion of one former member of Ukraine's parliament:

https://www.conservapedia.com/Maidan_coup#The_most_blatant_coup_in_history

On November 20, 2013 Ukraine member of parliament Oleg Tsarev accused the US Embassy in Kyiv of preparing a coup in Ukraine on the floor of the Ukrainian parliament. The nationalist faction in the Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian parliament, attempted to shout Tsarov done.[27] Tsarov said:

"'In my role as a representative of the Ukrainian people, activists from the Volya Public Organization turned to me, providing clear evidence that within our country, with support and direct participation of the US Embass in Kiev, a “TechCamp” project is under way in which preparations are being made for a civil war in Ukraine.'"

Posting the same opinion from a guy who fled to Russia is not proof. It also isn't very convincing. How did the US embassy get 800,000 people to demonstrate against the Pro-Moscow government in Kyiv?

Your interest in (potentially revisionist) history is fascinating, but Putin invaded in 2022, not 2014.

The facts are that a number of well respected experts and analysts were 100% spot on about where the US' meddling in Ukraine was headed...
So their opinions match yours. Good for you. Much they write runs into what Putin said about why he invaded. Where did any of those "well respected" experts mention the need to "denazify" Ukraine?
Putin compared himself to Peter the Great, Russia's first emperor, in trying to justify his invasion of Ukraine
