When Trump was in office, NATO wasn't a perceived threat to Putin, and there was no need to arm up Ukraine. We blew up the pipeline - anyone who says otherwise is a complete hack.
What happened between Jan 2021 and Feb 2022 that moved Ukraine closer to joining Nato?

Correct, I get sick to my stomach every time I see some war monger suggest Putin was going to run through Ukraine and keep on going. It is beyond preposterous, and designed to keep the killing going endlessly.
So if Putin promised to only conquer Ukraine...there should be no problem, right?

I feel a bit lightheaded. Maybe you should drive.

For us? Nope. In case you haven't noticed, we can no longer afford to be the world's police force. China and Russia are developing a non-dollar based trading network and that means we have officially become an empire in decline.

Biden took office.
That's it? As long as the fighting continued in Donbas, Nato's rules would not have allowed them to join.

What did Biden do or say that would have moved Ukraine into a position to join?
While you think about that, remember Putin's justification for the invasion. It was not just about Nato. Ukraine was ruled by Nazis, was not really a sovereign nation and was really a part of Russia.

Yes as per usual everything Joe f-cks up is Trumps fault. Useful Idiocy 101.

We blew up the pipeline, everything adds up to that including Joe in his own words.....
So Sachs, pro-Putin type who was in mourning over the fall of the Soviet Union agrees with you. So what?

While Putin mentioned those other things, he CLEARLY cited NATO expansion:

Vladimir Putin cites Nato expansion as one reason for Russia's war on Ukraine - India Today

Ukraine, despite having wonderful people who certainly do not deserve what is happening to them, is not our problem.
Poland, despite having wonderful people who do not deserve the invasion by Germany...are not our problem....
The people of Norway do not deserve the invasion by Germany...are not our problem.
The people of Denmark, Belgium, France, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, France, Greece....do not deserve the German oppression....but they aren't our problem.
The people of South Korea don't deserve the invasion by the North...but they are not our problem....

Yeah, better to turn a blind eye. So based on Putin's saying NATO is a threat to Russia...will he be invading Finland or Sweden next?

From your link....
Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine, claiming that Moscow's military operation was intended to protect civilians and had no aim of occupying the neighbouring nation.

Laughable...
And cited NATO expansion - did you miss that part? Yes, Ukrainian armed vigilantes were murdering Russian speaking civilians in the Eastern regions by the thousands. I'm not sure why you would find that funny...

He won't have to. When the bill comes due for the Ukraine war, NATO will lose its appetite (and appeal) for expansion.

I didn't say it is "okay." I said it isn't worth turning us into a "lame duck" empire.
um. that's not turning us into a lame duck empire. if anything what is turning us into a lame duck is our shit politic, lazy people, stupidity and lack of effort...
