Another lefty falls on her sword for O'bungle.

Lois G. Lerner, the woman at the center of the IRS tea party targeting scandal, retired from the agency Monday morning after an internal investigation found she was guilty of “neglect of duties” and was going to call for her ouster, according to congressional staff.

Her departure marks the first person to pay a significant price in the scandal, though Republicans were quick to say her decision doesn’t put the matter to rest, and pointed out that she can still be called before Congress to testify.

Awe, I don't know if it was so much willingly falling on her sword or scapegoating. Someone probably had a nice off the record chat with her explaining the advantages of um... retiring gracefully versus being officially forced out.

And Lerner's illegal targeting was perpetrated on his orders...
I'll be honest, Marv, I can't say for sure that it came from his mouth. Did it come from someone much higher up than Ms. Lerner. Yes, I am sure it did. In the end they are hoping if she just goes away - the questions will go away. Either way they are totally planning on making her take the fall for the whole thing...and if the did that while she was still in office they likely would have to actually "fire" her which may impact her benefits. So, best she go now, then they can happily scapegoat her if necessary, and in a few years when the dust settles, I am sure they can bring her back for a lucrative consulting position to make it up to her.

I couldn't say 100% for sure either, but it sure is classic "community organizing", Alinksy-style, isn't it?

Pugs: They screeched when she stayed, and screeched when she left.

You think it's a big stretch that the directives to target conservative groups within the IRS could have come from someone higher than Lerner? You think it was all on her? LOLOL...
..no, but I don't think Obama directed it - but from reading your post, one could make that inference, no?

I am sure she got a fine little $$$$ offer for her speedy retirement. Well worth it to her. ... and to Obama.

What would Obama possibly have to gain from "directing it", if none of the Tea Partier's claims were rejected? It makes no sense. For Obama to've politicized the IRS to the extent being Fox-farted, it would've represented a monumantal risk, with virtually no possible reward. Shit...the politics would've been worse for him if the IRS HAD denied a few of them! In fact....the bigger political risk would've been if they'd found out that some of these applicants shouldn't get their exemptions by any stretch but they gave them to them anyway!

It used to be that in order for anyone to pay the least bit of attention to your conspiracy theory, it at least had to make sense.

Still gets her pension. Obamma will likely appoint her to an post inside the Administration as reward, Susan Rice style. Double dipping on a Government pension while getting a paycheck as a result of Obamma. What a country, that Amerika!
She better learn the name of the Prophet's mother by the time Obamma's real work is done, though. Obamma's planned successors frown on infidels.

It's not absurd at all. Why would you NOT think there's a strong possibility this directive came from the top?

The Nazis left no written records for anyone to peruse during the Wannsee Conference January, 1942 where the 'Final Solution' was discussed. Whenever they later spoke of it amongst themselves, all references were in code. Everyone knew exactly what the boss wanted so they simply went out and did the best job they could. We have Baracks words after the Citizens United Decision. There was no ambiguity about what he wanted either and the Democrats House election debacle in 2010 was an added impetus for them. They just couldn't have their Chicago Jesus similarly going down in flames in 2012. Old Chicago Proverb: "Never leave an election's results to chance." There was no argument about Hitler being guilty under similar circumstances. There's no argument about Obama's guilt either. The lack of a paper trail is no big surprise but his fingerprints are still all over it.
