Vacation time was not an issue. The bill with the paid sick time did not “win.” It lost. Because the Republican senators blocked it after the Dem House passed it. So I blame the Republicans. Not Biden, not the Dems. I’m a reality buff. The (D)s could have left the paid vacation in the original bill. They didn't because they knew it would lose on it's own. WINNING! - right?
Whoops - I should have written paid sick time instead of paid vacation time. Brain Fart on my part.Vacation time was not an issue. The bill with the paid sick time did not “win.” It lost. I don’t know who agrees with you. I do know the Republicans opposed the paid sick time and Biden and the Dems approved of it.Whoops - I should have written paid sick time instead of paid vacation time. Brain Fart on my part.
You can blame the GOP if you like but Biden teed it right up for them to hit it out of the park. Clearly a whole lot of RR workers agree with me.
Then you have to acknowledge that they LOST again. You're comfortable with that.I don’t know who agrees with you. I do know the Republicans opposed the paid sick time and Biden and the Dems approved of it.
Comfortable with it? I’m not sure what you mean by that. It’s reality. I accept it. I wish the Republicans supported the bill with the paid sick leave. But they didn’t. That’s the reality. And it’s irrational to blame anyone but those who opposed the bill - the Republicans. More reality. Then you have to acknowledge that they LOST again. You're comfortable with that.

There is no wall. But there was a choice to be made. Oddly, you said you support the decision (see post no. 9, for example) while also criticizing it.If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.
Traditional (apologies @Zam-Zam )
Bottom line - The (D)s failed to deliver again.
You keep blaming the wall not the idiot that drove into it.
I support the outcome because it is better for America. There is no wall. But there was a choice to be made. Oddly, you said you support the decision (see post no. 9, for example) while also criticizing it.
Your heart just isn’t in it.

The Republican version of the bill was signed by Biden, who had the authority to veto it.Comfortable with it? I’m not sure what you mean by that. It’s reality. I accept it. It is amazing to be how these Biden apologists are just as blind to Biden's actions as the republicans were to Trump's.The Republican version of the bill was signed by Biden, who had the authority to veto it.
Exactly rightIt is amazing to be how these Biden apologists are just as blind to Biden's actions as the republicans were to Trump's.
Of course the (D)s screwed over the workers. They gave the RR owners exactly what they wanted and set up a virtue-signalling paid sick time vote that had no chance at all of passing. If they had wanted to support the workers they could have easily left everything in one package. They didn't. And the Biden apologists refuse to acknowledge this or if they do they attempt to justify it. Pathetic.
Surely you know I have explained why it didn’t screw over the RR workers.I support the outcome because it is better for America.
I point out that in order to get that outcome Biden screwed over the RR workers. Surely you understand that.
Let’s recap…It is amazing to be how these Biden apologists are just as blind to Biden's actions as the republicans were to Trump's.

No let's really recap - the (D)s took out pretty much the only thing that was left to negotiate about - sick leave. They gave the RR owners exactly what they had already agreed to. Then they served up a sure loser virtue signalling sick leave bill that had ZERO chance of passing. In other words they sold out the RR workers.Let’s recap…
The Dems voted for a bill that gave the holdout unions exactly what they asked for. Biden supported it. The Republicans opposed it. Yet you blame the inability to pass that bill on Biden and the Dems.
Leading onlookers to say “Huh?”
;-)
Funny how the RR workers don't see it that way ..... huh?Surely you know I have explained why it didn’t screw over the RR workers.
Let’s say you’re right and the bill with the paid sick leave had “a zero percent chance” of passing. Why would that be?No let's really recap - the (D)s took out pretty much the only thing that was left to negotiate about - sick leave. They gave the RR owners exactly what they had already agreed to. It doesn't look at all like anyone is saying "huh". Why don't you ask the people actually effected by this move what they think?

As I have said - it would be like trying to teach a goldfish to do calculus to expect anything other than that from the republicans. So the (D) put it up knowing it would fail.Let’s say you’re right and the bill with the paid sick leave had “a zero percent chance” of passing. Why would that be?
Hmm…say it with me now….
Republicans!
I KNEW you could do it!

why do they get fired when they call out sick? The railroad workers, on average, get 25 to 29 days of paid time off. I have worked a number of jobs where I accrued PTO. That is their sick time.
Really? The first time someone calls in sick they are terminated?why do they get fired when they call out sick?
