How about Liz Cheney for Speaker of the House?

The dysfunctional GOP needs to make someone Speaker, and the GOP wackjobs have their knives out for Kevin McCarthy. So, people are floating the name of Liz Cheney for Speaker.

Whaddaya think?

I think that you are delusional if you the that the GOP is going to make Liz Cheney the Speaker of the House. Ain't gonna happen. No way, no how. They'd make Trump the Speaker first.

Hey, I’m not predicting it. But it makes for interesting chatter. The only theoretical route would be D’s voting for her and the (concededly small) sane GOP caucus backing her too. An extreme longshot, to be sure. It should be interesting to see if McCarthy can wrangle the Speaker slot. His caucus consists of many lunatics.

MTG will control the house, she will " strong arm " McCarthy into the position and slap him down in public daily. Gaetz is scared to death of her as is 95% of right wingers, I mean when she goes sleeveless they all blush.

btw - was she a man earlier in life ?

She flushed her career down the toilet by heading up a political persecution. In fact it was so bad, in her own Primary in Wyoming, a state where the GOP is pretty much owned by former VP Dick Cheney....she lost her primary by 30 points.

Apparently the people of Wyoming (rightfully so) don't appreciate political persecution.

only if the left is willing to reciprocate, and let the GOP pick the next "democrat speaker of the house", when the majority inevitably changes again. are you good with that?

Or they blindly followed Trump's instructions.

If she became Speaker, you think it would be because the GOP picked her?

It always is subject to a vote by the entire senate. If a republican had enough support from the Dems, sure thing.

She "flushed her career down the toilet" by the Wyoming electorate that consists of about half a million and shows how far right the cultists there are. I mean, they were ready to shoot her in the face.

haha

She didn't head up any political persecution. She was fighting for the Constitution in spite of Trump wanting to terminate it.

As much as I dislike her politics, she finally snapped back to reality and saw what I did- albeit it 6 years too late.

I admire courage. She has both integrity and a value system that will be missed in the republican leadership.

It's cute that you believe that. Adorable actually.

True. Knowing that she would lose her seat in the House, she fought for what was worth more- our democracy. You definitely have to give her that.

But I think she has higher political aspirations.

You prefer McCarthy and McConnell? Both of whom blamed Trump for the riot the next day and quickly backed down. Now that is a great example of courage, eh?
I have no use for either one of them in fact I have no use for the GOP at all. In the face of the historic level of corruption in the Democrat party they are utterly inept and useless.

McConnell would rather the Senate remained with the Democrats if it meant he kept his position. He got his wish (Warnock will win of course).

McCarthy is only putting out press about all of these things because he needs votes to be speaker.... I would be amazed if he did any of it.

You do realize that you are saying the leader of the Republican party in the Senate, McConnell, is as corrupt as any Democrat, don't you?

I hear that McCarthy will be just a shadow Speaker with MTG pulling his strings.

Any truth to that?
