When you read the link I provided you'll see that most republicans favor Trump to run again. Far fewer would vote for Desantis in the primary.

I think DeSantis is scarier … he is a hard-right answer to Trump; apparently just as authoritarian; and probably quite a bit more competent. Anyway, I think Trump is out because he will be in prison by then.

No, they don't agree on who they want to run in his place.

Most people have a pie-in-sky candidate, but will compromise for Joe Biden because he ain't so bad.

Yang, Booker, and Ryan already lost to Biden.
Kasich already lost to Trump.

Times have changed and alliances have changed. I am very suspicious of Yang whose main proposal was cribbed from Nixon and who had a bunch of weird right-wing support in the last election but I think he is the kind of candidate who might do well in 2024. I don’t see Kasich going anywhere but Cheney I think potentially could win the nomination.
