Democrats unanimously back debt ceiling discharge petition

Every House Democrat has endorsed the discharge petition to force a vote on legislation to hike the debt ceiling and prevent a default, party leaders announced Wednesday.

The signatures of the two final holdouts — Reps. Jared Golden (D-Maine) and Ed Case (D-Hawaii) — puts the total number at 213, meaning Democratic leaders still need to find five Republicans for the petition to be successful.

And if there never were 5 of them then GOP voters destroyed America last Nov and not this June.

Imagine that…leftists voting in abject 100% conformity. ZERO independent voices out of that vast number. Why…it’s almost like whatchyacallit…yeah…a hive, that’s it. Bugs. Insects. Hive-dwelling, pheromone-sniffing, queen-following drones…powerless to exercise personal agency or self-sovereignty.

Just like the leftists on this board. Never a dissenting voice from the party voice.

Moron Democrats, moron Republicans - not a lot of difference other than the insect-conformity.

Because it's basic responsibility. [Unwelcome language removed] the U.S.'s economy for no constructive reason, or not?

I have to think the Republicans almost certainly will find their 5. Because if they don't, the strong-dollar heavy industry folks and the commercial capitalists who are so vital to the party's fundraising will shut the taps off fast. They can't afford to see the hyperinflation the failure to raise the debt ceiling would quickly inaugurate. This is all just a playing-chicken-with-the-country's-future pageant their leadership puts on to twist the White House's arm behind the scenes.

The House already passed a bill that raises the debt ceiling. A Senate majority has indicated they favor passing the bill. All Chuck Schumer has to do is bring the bill to the floor and then pass it off to Joe Biden to sign and it's done.

A bill passes the GOP House to raise the debt limit while the Dem Senate and WH sit there and do nothing and somehow you think this is the GOP's fault? That's deranged.

Your brain is malfunctioning again.

Accepting the House bill issued at gunpoint would be negotiating with terrorists.

It includes a laundry list of right wing crap. How does an increased work requirement lower the deficit?

That is all stuff they should work out in the next budget.

You can’t explain away lefty insectism as “it’s basic responsibility”. What it is…is INFERIOR humans infecting our government (and citizenry)…gleefully surrendering their human autonomy for lesser animalistic traits. And you/they will continue to do so.

When it’s taking the only tenable position, you’re wrong.
