With capitalist representative democracy, you have your choice of hells ... the social democracy of a Hugo Chavez or Bernie Sanders, the Bonapartist regime of a Donald Trump or Charles de Gaulle, the liberal regime of an Elizabeth Warren or Porfirio Diaz, the conservative regime of a Ted Cruz or Margaret Thatcher. Eventually even letting people have their choice of these hells becomes intolerable to the capitalist regime and we are faced more and more with the Bonapartist and military-police regime. As the crisis of capitalism deepens, these, and remaining liberal democracies, increasingly are supplanted by the fascist regime which is the ultimate choice of every capitalist regime fighting for survival.
