Biden doing more for Trump supporters than Trump ever did.

Are you honestly saying that covid was not raging out of control in NY? You know why they can't open to capacity, democrats won't allow them to.
“Democrats won’t allow them to” for health reasons. But in New York (much more than in, say, Florida) government intervention has brought the problem under control and consequently now there are significantly fewer restrictions.

Wow, you really think no one knows what is going on except you. It's really the only way I can think that you could possibly think you can get away with such lies. We have seen comparisons between Fla and NY, primarily because their populations are similar and their tactics have been polar opposites, and yet Florida has faired far better than NY. Granted, it didn't help that Cuomo literally killed 10s of thousands of nursing home residents.

New York: 1 new case this week per 7655 residents. Florida: 1 new case this week per 4613 residents (almost twice as many).

New York was *originally* the hardest hit due to being the country’s economic and cultural center. Which makes it all the more impressive that they are now doing much better than states like Florida which had more time to prepare.

Ah, so you were talking only one metric. How stupid and simplistic.

I believe we were discussing economies. But...hey, anything to score a point, even if it has nothing to do with the subject.

How childish

Which state is gonna have brighter economic prospects, the one where the virus continues to be allowed to rage out of control, or the one where infection rates have been brought way down by intelligent public policy?

Deaths have always lagged infections. And in fact Florida’s numbers have shot way up.

The one where businesses were allowed to stay open so that when people were ready to work the jobs would be there.

You can be as virus free as you want, but if businesses are forced to close because of draconian mandates then there is nothing to go back too.

Face it, democrats screwed the pooch royally on this one.

This has already proven to be a failure because the states with the most draconian shutdowns still have the most Covid problems and highest unemployment. Covid has been brought somewhat under control thanks to the Warp Speed vaccines. That's it.
And that was brought about by President Trump, who even before the vaccines went public, reduced the death rate from 17,000/week in April, to 2000/week in June. HUGE SUCCESS.

But how will rural people respond? Well we already know.
Record highs in the financial markets today.

It’s the virus that’s closing business and not regulation, for the most part. That’s why the stock market crash came before any meaningful mitigation measures were in place, and why NYC is essentially back to business as usual while businesses all over the red states are shuttered.

It went up to 3,000 per day in October. The gains made possible by summer weather were realized in other countries to a much greater extent.

Bullschitt. The virus didn't mandate that businesses close, democrats did.

Sad, just sad, your dishonesty.

Businesses were “mandated” to close for as long as 3 weeks. Strip clubs and barbershops for maybe 2 months. Anything beyond that has been voluntary on the part of business owners. Or show me otherwise.

You know, even a cursory attempt at trying to educate yourself would be immensely helpful.

Did you read your links? The top one is about a “potential” 3-week shutdown for businesses like barbershops, one that may or may not have gone into effect in a few counties. The second explicitly points out that China, by enforcing stricter controls, was able to end their shutdowns and recover much faster. The third is about a 2-week shutdown, again for salons. The fourth is about voluntary shutdowns. The fifth is about the impact of the pandemic on business ... which you pretend is limited to shutdowns when they are the least of most business owners’ concern and when the stock market crash due to the pandemic preceded any mitigation measures.
