um.. the federal tax on gas is 18 cents a gallon...So, some 180 gallons in three months X roughly a buck per gallon (total taxes) = about $180.
180 > 27, no?
;-)

@PhilFish @EatTheRich
As the business news has pointed out NONE of what Biden proposed increases the supply of oil and his tax break only increases the demand... meaning in short order the price of the gas will go up most likely to a price point mirroring the cost of gas plus tax but that money NOT going to fix the roads.
Yes, Biden and his pros are real good. ha ha
Immediately is your problem you brought onto yourselves not having done what the oilmen asked for at the start of the war despite warning after warning. THINK BABY FORMULA!!!That’s VERY vague.
HOW do we immediately “increase the supply” of oil, a global commodity, in quantities that will quickly reduce prices?
No fair using Trump magic pixie dust.
Good luck.
I remember something about taxes going up when prices went up. But they're talking like its a fixed price per gallon. Maybe they changed the law a couple of decades ago.WHy hasnt anyone noted these windfall federal taxes.....?!?! just plain ole gouging the consumer....
Govt. mess. City government usually.and the roads are a mess...
His plan goes beyond the federal gas tax…um.. the federal tax on gas is 18 cents a gallon...
Your dodge is noted.Immediately is your problem you brought onto yourselves not having done what the oilmen asked for at the start of the war despite warning after warning. THINK BABY FORMULA!!!
But like a typical Dem your need for "immediacy" is noted. Do Dems practice at being clowns or does it just come naturally?
Here ya go Bugsy...His plan goes beyond the federal gas tax…
FACT SHEET: President Biden Calls for a Three-Month Federal Gas Tax Holiday | The White House
The price of gas is up dramatically around the world, and by almost $2 per gallon in America, since Putin began amassing troops on the border of Ukraine. President Biden understands that high gas prices pose a significant challenge for working families. That’s why he has taken action in recent...www.whitehouse.gov
Not enough though? Just stick with the status quo?
I thought this was clear by now - I’m not interested in your mindless carping. It’s worthless. If you can propose something specific that will bring down the prices, lay it out. Here ya go Bugsy...
- The President announced the release of a record 1 million barrels per day from our Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which just last week a leading oil market analyst confirmed has been critical to keeping prices from rising even more. Reasonable unless we go into WW3 with Russia and/or China. Or don't because we can't defend Taiwan.
- He rallied international partners to join us, releasing a combined 240 million barrels of oil on the market. Says who?
- He expanded access to biofuels like E15—gasoline that uses a 15 percent ethanol blend—to increase supply and lower prices at thousands of gas stations across the country. Expanded the expensive production of fuel in terms of energy input and CO2 creating during the fermentation process. Not to mention you can eat the 25 lbs of corn it takes to make 1 gallon of ethanol. You know because FAMINE is coming. The kind of famine that overruns the Mex-Tex border kind!?!
- He and his Administration are engaging with oil and refining companies to ask them to work with the Administration to bring forward concrete solutions that increase refinery capacity and output. Secretary Granholm is meeting with these CEOs this week. More like he should ask them how the Adminstration can work with them. Otherwise it sounds like Biden is getting ready to screw them as soon as he politically can.
You can't believe Dem propaganda @PhilFish
What dodge? That I don't hand you a solution on a silver platter? You are a Dem to the bone aren't you?Your dodge is noted.
You’re just making noise. That’s all you can do.
Go talk to the oilmen and ask them what YOU can do to help them produce more faster. Then do what they ask you to do. Try not to screw them in the end. Either end.I thought this was clear by now - I’m not interested in your mindless carping. It’s worthless. If you can propose something specific that will bring down the prices, lay it out.
I’m not optimistic.
You’re so devoid of solutions you stoop to saying “go talk to the oilmen.”Go talk to the oilmen and ask them what YOU can do to help them produce more faster. Then do what they ask you to do. Try not to screw them in the end. Either end.
You Dems can't even get the BABY FORMULA fixed how in the world could you get this oil thing fixed. Reminds me of our Transportation Secretary out to lunch breast feeding his new baby while the congestion at the ports built up.You’re so devoid of solutions you stoop to saying “go talk to the oilmen.”
If you had any dignity and integrity you would not carp about Biden’s solutions without proposing solutions you claim to be better. But you have no dignity or integrity.
the zealotry is stunningHere ya go Bugsy...
