Whatever works is fine with me. From what I have heard, Mercedes’ Benz said they plan on being all electric in 10 years. They have been around and successful for a long time. Anything which will help drive down fuel costs would be good for Americans. So far I am not aware of any major manufacture of hydrogen fuel cell autos. Are there any of those vehicles available at this point? I can’t think of anything better than a car that gets 20mpg on water from your hose. Bring them on!

Electric vehicles will not drive down fuel costs. We are still using the same amount of fuel, except that, with electric vehicles, that fuel needs to produce the electricity needed to power the vehicles. You're just paying for it with your electricity bill instead of your gas bill. On top of that, the electrical grid infrastructure is not designed for electric vehicles. A few is fine, but if they start being used in any appreciable number, you can count on brown outs.

Add to that, strip mining is required for some of the more exotic components. Again, right now there aren't enough being manufactured to make a huge difference, but once they are produced en-mass, strip mining will go up significantly.

Where do you think those batteries are going to end up once they expire? Well, the ones that don't explode anyway.

I see this as a boutique lifestyle choice by rich environmentalists who want to virtue signal. Nothing more.

Virtue signaling, the new right wing buzz phrase for anything that threatens their owners, big oil….LOL….Mercedes Benz thinks that EVs are the wave of the future or they would not have their whole R & D division working on a full transition right now. Ford also has been building up and selling many EVs already. Your lust of horrors regarding building and powering these vehicles seems to be the real “Virtue Signaling” color. You are spouting talking points fed to you by the oil lobby, chapter and verse. Strip mining, power grid etc….Not buying it.…I know that from where I live, I could charge 2 cars a day with my solar system and still have plenty left to run my house and shop. I’m just waiting for the technology to come up a bit and the range.

The reason for a lot of this is that the federal government has been subsidizing the manufacturers to the tune of around 60k per vehicle. As well as subsidizing new research. EVs are not market driven, they're the fantasy of the socialist left, who are using our money to try and force us into less efficient and more expensive boondoggles.

I think you and most right wingers are jus spouting off oil company talking points and acting like you know what the fvck you are talking about. Ok - so let's think for a second - all the biog 3 currently make EV's and use union labor to do so...........now how do they lose thier job again ? The poor brainwashed herd of orange lemmings post and follow and worship their messiah
