Biden wants IRS to monitor people’s bank accounts more closely — will it catch tax cheats, or invade privacy?
In the ongoing debate over tax hikes for the rich and multi-trillion dollar government spending on the social safety net, a much smaller dollar amount is catching a lot of attention.

It will invade Republican 's privacy and catch Democrats cheating on taxes.

If Biden wants this...Let's start with his family...You know as a showing of good faith, cuz Joe does know about good faith doesn't he?

This is about control. The fourth amendment has been obliterated and all in the name of fighting the drug war having started this. Bank of America without being asked or subpoenaed turned over information of their customers (Sixers) related to that fateful day of protest. Bank of America is lead by vile people.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized

Hunter is already under IRS investigation. Biden is already under investigation. Th point is they will get off with a fine. Normal people who are investigated will be prosecuted.

What is the crime you think is evident here?

The claim in the NYPost is that the Congressional Research Service reported Biden may owe $500k in taxes...but there is no link to the CRS report. I checked the CRS website and found no report.

Neither did the reporter who wrote this.

"Banks said the report shows Biden improperly used “S corporations” to avoid paying Medicare tax on speaking fees and book sales in 2017 and 2018.

Biden and first lady Jill Biden routed more than $13 million through S corporations and counted less than $800,000 of it as salary eligible for the Medicare tax — exempting the rest from what would have been a 3.8 percent rate, the Wall Street Journal reported."

There is no report and the IRS response to Banks doesn't say that.

Did you read the IRS said there are NO SPECIFIC RULES related to reasonable compensation.

It also speaks to what are called distributions, which is apparently a gray area as far as the tax law is concerned. Was literally millions of s corporations potentially shirking reportable income by hiding payments under the so-called distributions. Further states that the IRS doesn't have the manpower to pursue audits of these millions of s corporations. So there you have it

But it's not an issue without merit considering the treatment that Trump got. Stands to reason that's similar scrutiny is acceptable for the current president
