First on CNN: Classified documents found at Pence's Indiana home | CNN Politics

A lawyer for former Vice President Mike Pence discovered about a dozen documents marked as classified at Pence's Indiana home last week, and he has turned those classified records over to the FBI, multiple sources familiar with the matter told CNN.

Wow. He was interviewed and said he never had documents in his possession and that his military aid would meet him in a scif early every morning and returned to his aid after they'd been read. Looks like that wasn't true.

A dozen documents in his home. Yet another independent investigation?

Bad on Pence for denying he had classified documents when he did have them, but at least he ultimately cooperated, or so it seems.

Far different than Trump, who stole many boxes of documents, lied, obstructed, claimed they were his, moved them around, stonewalled, kept them in his desk, accused the FBI of planting them, etc.

Again, I would guess they all have these things. Absent the giant over reach by the FBI on Trumps house, this would barely get a blip in the news cycle.

Trump was informed in May 2021 that there were documents missing. Why didn't he return them the next day? Because, as he said, he felt they were his to keep. Instead his attorneys fought any attempt to get those documents until January 2022. Even then they didn't return all the documents they had. A subpoena was issued in May 2022 and an envelope of documents was returned in June of 2022. NARA and the DOJ then got a search warrant.....after over a year of fighting with Trump about it.

Your defense of Trump by attacking the FBI is amusing.

That sound you here, as more and more documents are found in Biden's possesion or Pences, is (once again) your precisous case against Trump being flushed down the toilet....

HA HA HA HA.

1. Biden lied about having them by leading the American people to believe that sensitive US information was secure, and not being put at risk.

2. Biden refused to return them by not doing so for what (6 years ?) Gag!

3. Trump's claim about FBI planting documents may be unproven but it os just as unproven to say it didn't happen. At this point, it very well have been planted. Let anyone come forth to prove it wasn't. And what circumstantial evidence exists tens to point in Trump's favor. As he said >> "And remember, we could have NO representative, including lawyers, present during the Raid. They were told to wait outside,”

4. Presently, there is no legal statue or standing to say that a US president cannot declasssify documents with his mind, or in any particular way. The Constitution, executive orders and case law clearly give the president broad authority to classify and declassify documents. Similarly, prevailing law also requires federal officials to follow certain procedures in declassifying documents to establish specificity and memorialization for future handling. BUT the extent of a president’s legal authority to unilaterally declassify materials — without those formalities — has yet to be challenged in court.

5. Trump does not claim to have documents as "keepsakes" His claim was to have kept FOLDERS as "keepsakes". The answer to which is So What ?

Get out there and find them documents!! Never you mind your service, and attorney-client privilege, you can always get another job..
