Um, there has yet to be a trial related to the January 6 Committee investigation. Don't know where you get your definition of a trial, but a judge and jury would be involved.
Instead, there were a bunch of elected representatives, both D and R, interviewing people who were actually in the White House on Jan 6...mostly republican appointees who worked for Trump.

Your version of the truth? Did Trump return government documents to NARA when notified they were missing? That would have been in May 2021. Did Trump actually declassify documents by thinking about it? Are they his documents and was it illegal to have the FBI seize them?

I can go by what Trump said about the documents. That he declassified them and that they belong to him. To me that would indicate he intentionally took them. No other rational explanation works.
I have repeatedly said that proving conspiracy would be nearly impossible without an insider flipping on Trump. I have also said the hundred or so contacts between Trump campaign officials and Russian government officials or Putin pals was suspicious and when taken into consideration with illegal hacks of the DNC and election related systems, justified the investigations. You think those things should have been ignored.
The documents found at Biden's office and residence do not justify the 40 boxes of documents Trump admitted to taking to Mar-a-Lago.
Trump had refused to return documents. He had lied, thru his lawyer, that all documents had been returned. That indicates he had no intent to return what was illegally taken. You say it was overreach to then get a search warrant. Of course, your legal opinion doesn't count for shit, but I'll take the legal opinion of the judge to granted the warrant request.
