Of course Stalin and his fellow counterrevolutionaries who were his successors used the brutal methods typical of capitalism to effect that progress, but in effect it was no different from what was done in, say, the U.S. where ethnic cleansing of the Native Americans was used to clear primitive economies away making capitalist progress (such as the transcontinental railroad) possible.huh? forced collectivization to fuel industrialization and the stripping of resources...progress? the majority lived like and remained peasants..
