Bugsy McGurk
President
We come full circle. At the outset of Trump’s presidential campaign there were grave questions about his connections with Putin and Russia. There has been a real fear that Putin holds damning kompromat. And since that time Trump has provided ample reason to conclude that those concerns were justified.
So here we are. For reasons that are yet mysterious, Trump heisted documents that should have gone to the National Archives, included ultra classified documents. People are wondering - WHY would Trump do such a thing?
The worst case scenario is that he took the documents, and refused to give them back, because he wanted to give them to Putin (and/or some other dictator). To be sure, there is no evidence of this, but there is also no other rational explanation for his bizarre decisions to take, and hold, the documents in question. And such fears are the very reason we have laws governing the handling of documents.
We obviously have to see how this plays out, but it would be reckless to not even consider the worst case scenario. Such is life during the horrific Trump era.
