Constitution hating Texas Dictator governor vetoes funding for Legislature after Democrats block voting bill

President
Did he? I haven't seen any movement forward on building the wall with the funds that were already appropriated for it.
Just like there wasn’t any under Trump. Because “the wall” was a vapid appeal to the stupidest voters and an excuse to funnel taxpayer money to Trump’s cronies.

SO it seems Trump was willing to deny paychecks to millions of federal employees to preserve funding for a wall he promised that Mexico would pay for?
Trump wasn't the one who refused to pass the budget leading to a government shutdown. The bill had already been agree on with the WH. Your lying gets worse by the hour.

The governor is holding funding for the legislature, not just hte democrats and his threat is to stop the work of the Texas legislature because the democrats refuse to vote on his bizarre election bill.
No, they can refuse to vote. Do the Democratic thing and your job and vote nay to the bill if you feel that represents your constituents. They don't have the votes to stop it so they are using stall tactics that will not defeat the bill but only run up legislative costs with extra sessions. Those lawmakers should help pay for those extra costs out of their own paychecks if they are refusing to come in and sit. Abbot should be doing this. It's totally appropriate for the governor to veto bills if lawmakers refuse to work in good faith.

Facts matter.

That’s not what Abbott is doing (simply withholding assent to legislation). He is refusing to release money that has been appropriated by law.
A bill that has been vetoed is not "appropriated by law". Derp. You are the perfect example of why men shouldn't take estrogen. Freaks abound.

Senator
So it's alright to lockdown the government and deny paychecks to millions of federal employees if it's over an issue YOU agree with it (ie. block border wall funding)? But not alright to deny paychecks to elected legislators if they refuse to do their job(vote on legislation introduced on election security)?

You sound like a bigger fool with each post.

Are you claiming Obama had the choice to renege on budgets that were already passed by Congress and signed? Now THAT would be a dictator. ROFL. Foolish one. A governor has the authority not to sign any bill the state legislature puts before him. So does a President with Congress. In fact, vetoing or not signing bills is a tactic long used by both to get concessions from the legislative bodies. Democrats know this better than anyone as they've done it since the country's founding. Obama couldn't have blocked funding to Congress. He did veto the spending bill in 2015, however, to try to twist the arms of legislators. Garland was in an election year for a deadbeat going out the door. He had no ability at that point. Your hypocrisy is sickening. Okay to strike paychecks from millions of innocent American workers for your "cause" but claim conspiracy when legislators get their checks docked for something they have full power to prevent.

Evil lives.
Look at the minimum wage over the past two decades.

Now, look at any mortgage/lease/rental over the same period of time.

Any idiot could see the disparities.

You’re revising history. It was Trump who after agreeing to a deal with Congress threatened to veto the agreed-upon bill thereby forcing a shutdown. He even publicly said that he would be responsible for the shutdown.

That’s not the issue here. We’re talking about a law that was passed that the governor is arbitrarily refusing to enforce.

There's no such thing as as "law that was passed" which gets vetoed on the governor's desk and with which doesn't have 2/3 super majority support among legislators to override. That might be the single dumbest line you've ever uttered......and you've uttered many. You left wingers have no idea how our system works. No wonder you hate America and what it stands for it. You are the rotten underbelly of decent society.

The budget comes from the WH and then goes to Congress for passage, tiny mind. Democrats refused to pass the bill because they didn't like it which eventually lead to the defunding of government and the government shutdown. Untold numbers of everyday Americans were denied paychecks while it was going on as a result. You should learn how the system works before you speak next time. A man should not take estrogen. Reading these insane ramblings make that more apparent than ever.

We're not talking about vetoing a law. We're talking about mandatory funds appropriated by statute that the governor is refusing to release.

Democrats passed the bill Trump sent them, he then vetoed his own bill because they wouldn't agree to demands he made after the fact, after specifically saying he would own the shutdown.

There is nothing "mandatory" that can vetoed. Like I said, a man should not take estrogen. Freak.

Once again, Pelosi and Democrats refused to pass Trump's budget. That caused a government shutdown. You are bouncing all around try to deflect and make excuses for your idiocy.

No ... they passed the budget Trump sent them and then Trump vetoed it because he wanted a do-over.
